Fair use rationale for Image:SpacekCarrieBlood.jpg[edit]

Image:SpacekCarrieBlood.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BetacommandBot (talk) 05:33, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Move proposal[edit]

Carrie White (Stephen King)Carrie White

I am unable to fathom why the disambiguator is needed. The only similar entry, Carrie C. White, is a redirect to List of American supercentenarians. It's extremely likely that anyone searching for "Carrie White" is looking for this article. —Otto4711 (talk) 02:53, 29 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Carrie C. White is not a redirect anymore, it is its own article. Carrie White should be changed into a disambiguation page, there is at least 1 person and 2 fictional characters with the name. Ranze (talk) 23:12, 26 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Carrie's death[edit]

I cant be the only one who has the impression that Carrie in the orginal film 1976 is killed by God after killing her mother, not by a misstake of her own? Carrie Brother.

There's no evidence of god doing anything in Carrie (1976 film). I have the impression that Carrie causes the house to collapse and burn when she looks up to the roof after killing her mother. 109.249.235.196 (talk) 02:27, 26 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well, that was disappointing...[edit]

Tell me. Who wrote this article? The information is wrong, the tense continuously switches from present to past, and the flow of the article is, if I'm to be truthful, nonexistent. I like to think of Wikipedia as an acceptable source of information, and this article has left me thoroughly disappointed and unimpressed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.209.16.67 (talk) 08:42, 12 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Just a Question[edit]

But which chapter was Carrie mentioned in It? I can't seem to find it Titan30 (talk) 05:14, 30 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Carrie WhiteCarietta White – This is her proper name, that her nickname is "Carrie" is established easily by the title of the novel itself. There are other characters who have this name, such as the blonde news reporter voiced by Mami Kingetsu in Labyrinth of Flames, whom it would be valuable to disambiguate from. Ranze (talk) 23:11, 26 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose: Less recognizable, does not seem like the WP:COMMONNAME, and there are no other articles about "Carrie White" on Wikipedia. —BarrelProof (talk) 21:24, 27 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. That's what she's generally known as. Her proper name is irrelevant. -- Necrothesp (talk) 15:53, 1 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Mind the gaps![edit]

In § Novel, ¶ 4:

Chris dumps pig's blood all over her as revenge for being banned from the prom.

That's the first mention of such a ban.

Last paragraph of the same section:

After telling Carrie the truth about her conception

What truth? There's no other mention of anything out of the ordinary.

I haven't read the book or seen any of the adaptations; somebody who has, please fill these continuity gaps. --Thnidu (talk) 23:45, 17 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, Thnidu, thanks for copyediting it. I've tried to fill the gaps you've pointed. Take a look. Gabriel Yuji (talk) 02:49, 18 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Very nice, Gabriel. Thanks. :-)
I've fixed a couple English and stylistic errors, and restored the word "bizarre" for Margaret's "fanatic" religious beliefs. Do you think that's excessive? Certainly if her beliefs held her back from teaching her seventeen-year-old daughter about menstruation, they're way over the edge. --Thnidu (talk) 04:35, 18 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Hm, certainly her belifies are extremist but well she is a fanatic... And in my opinion "fanatic" seems enough to make it clear to the reader. Bizzare is a word I'd avoid because it sounds like a judgment of value rather than neutral description... Gabriel Yuji (talk) 05:10, 18 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Gabriel Yuji: Well, certainly you wouldn't want to use either bizarre* or fanatic in the biography about a real person, but I'm not so sure we need a neutral POV for a fictional character. We can certainly call fictional characters villains or evil or megalomaniacs.
* Note the spelling. This word is very often misspelled even by well educated, intelligent native speakers of English.
--Thnidu (talk) 07:14, 18 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Well, you are right... It just sounds unnecessary but I'll not insist on this. Gabriel Yuji (talk) 19:46, 18 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
