sockpuppet template[edit]

Hi Dreamy Jazz, Hope you're well,

I've added the sock template to the userpages of New yorker jounlaist ‎, Wikipedianjo, Skymansky3 as these have been globally-locked for being علي أبو عمر socks but I don't know if these would still be under proven or suspected?,

Thought I should ask incase I've tagged these under the wrong one (proven/suspected), Many thanks, –Davey2010Talk 09:13, 21 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

In general, sock tags are added after cases at WP:SPI so sometimes tagging socks that have been globally locked but then not reported at enwiki may not be necessary (especially for cases where the user creates accounts frequently). In this case, as they are globally locked for socking you might as well add the tags. I would suggest that in general if you are unsure you tag as suspected (absent a WP:SPI case or a CU giving some kind of result). Deleted Content Needs Restoring[edit]

Good morning - I recently updated the Sun Capital Partners page (it took me hours, because I'm brand new) and I was flagged by an editor who expressed I might have a conflict of interest, and the page was deleted. I would love to have that page or that content restored somewhere. Like I mentioned, I'm more or less new to longer edits, and I also spent several hours reading through the edit guides. After so much effort, simply to fix some issues, I'm crushed that I would be deleted. My edits came about because the original was sloppy, and I could not get information. It kills me when wiki sites are not "clean" and updated. Anyway, can you help? Bradrhoads (talk) 01:03, 23 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • "Sun Capital is an experienced private equity firm driven by operational expertise....It partners with small and medium-sized enterprise founders and management teams to provide the resources and support needed to optimize operations for enhanced efficiency and sustainable growth....By supporting innovative non-profit organizations, the Foundation aims to fulfill its mission of promoting sustainable, positive change" followed by a list of inline URLs to the company web pages. Bradrhoads, you really need to come clean about that COI in regards to Marc Leder. Drmies (talk) 01:07, 23 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Wow. This is profoundly disheartening. Is this normal? Guys - I'm BRAND NEW. I read through the material offered up and I tried to help. I came to the Leder page because I'm a fan of the Washington Commanders, who was acquired by a group including Leder, and it was just a hit job, top to bottom, talking about sex parties, mistresses, details of his divorce - read it if it still exists. I feel like my edits neutralized it and corrected and obvious attack on the page. But now I'M being called out? @Drmies I think your tone is personal. This is just someone bigfooting who gets to play in the sandbox. Can anyone at all help me? Please read the orignal and my edits, and tell me which is better, and mentor me on how to fix it. Contentious topic/question[edit]

Hello Dreamy Jazz,

You created the page Wikipedia:Contentious_topics/India,_Pakistan,_and_Afghanistan and I thought I could ask you to clarify something. What is the scope of this topic: every topic related to any of the 3 countries (be it about food, entertainment and so on) or just the topics relating to the relations between them ("+/and" being a key component of the definition of the topic)? Asking this because I don't agree with the the interpretation of the page made by User:Saqib here. Thank you in advance. If you think I should ask elsewhere, please let me know. Best, -My, oh my! (Mushy Yank) 17:41, 27 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The interpretation by Saqib is correct. It applies to any page related to any of these countries whether or not the topic is related to more than one of these countries. For example, Talk:India and Talk:20 October 2017 Afghanistan attacks are tagged as being covered by this contentious topic designation, but are only related to one of the countries. Dreamy Jazz talk to me | my contributions 17:52, 27 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Not related to India/Pakistan but Hummus is protected is due to Israel/Palestine for example. S0091 (talk) 17:57, 27 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks both! I stand corrected. My apologies for the trouble. -My, oh my! (Mushy Yank) 18:18, 27 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
In my opinion your concern/question is a valid one. Had it not been for Hummus being on my watchlist because of vandalism along with other experience I have gained either directly or reading discussions, I would have thought like you. S0091 (talk) 18:38, 27 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
