(Sarcastic) suggestions for articles[edit]

I think if you've got the sources for something, there's no reason not to create an article on it. Wikipedia isn't a single creator god that makes some articles come into being and makes others stay nonexistent forever; articles are created through the efforts of individual users who have topics they are interested in (like me and opera, abortion politics in the U.S., or Israeli and Yiddish works and authors that people should know) or who come across information they realize Wikipedia doesn't have. So if sexual abuse is a systemic problem in the L.A. schools, Wikipedia doesn't cover it, and you think the sources support its existence as a topic instead of a couple of individual incidents (which I'm not getting from what you posted, but maybe you have more), it's not that Wikipedia has decided it shouldn't exist, and you could go for it. I also don't think the sources you posted illustrate anything in particular about the black community's response to rape or single that community out, but if you were interested in writing anything about how communities in general respond to such incidents (this would probably entail expanding an existing article, like victim blaming or rape culture), because responses to the Steubenville rape case and the suicide of Rehtaeh Parsons, among others, were quite similar without a race element, we could totally work together on that. –Roscelese (talkcontribs) 17:27, 24 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
