Open Hand Monument[edit]

  • ... that the Open Hand Monument (pictured), an insignia of Chandigarh, is a frequent theme in Le Corbusier's architecture, a symbol of "peace and reconciliation. It is open to give and open to receive"?

  • Long enough, no copyvios evident, 5X easily attained and QPQ confirmed. Offline hook accepted AGF. Coretheapple (talk) 13:46, 15 July 2015 (UTC)
  • I copyedited the article and added a tag where a cite is needed. I think the hook quote is a little clumsy with the period in there. Why don't you mention the symbolism of the sculpture to the city of Chandigarh, quoted in Betts, pp. 61-62?

  • Thanks for the review. I have fixed the ref to the tag. I propose this ALT1 Hook:
  • ALT1: ... that the Open Hand Monument (pictured) designed by Le Corbusier symbolizes "the hand to give and the hand to take; peace and prosperity, and the unity of mankind"?--Nvvchar. 06:11, 28 July 2015 (UTC)
  • Yes, that works better. ALT1 hook ref verified and cited inline. Image is freely-licensed. Rest of review per Coretheapple. ALT1 good to go. Yoninah (talk) 11:28, 28 July 2015 (UTC)
