I created the windsports entry since Chris Muller, son of one of the hang gliding pioneers has labelled his operation as a windsport company.

This term is being used throughout all wind powered recreation.

Should this be a dismbiguity page?

This article is very similar to air sports. GilliamJF 07:27, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I disagree strongly with any merger. In air sports the participants leave the ground, except model aircraft contests. (I have my doubts about model aircarft being included but the FAI disagrees.) Some of the windsport activities may use the wind but this does make them an aerial sport. Indeed most of the air sports do not rely on the wind: eg the three forms of gliding mainly use thermals, and parachutists would prefer the wind never blew at all.
