Pictures[edit]

I think that the picture of 1 Metropolitan Square (bottom right) in the intro card should be changed to something else. The picture is blurry and at an awkward angle. I think either the picture should be replaced by a better version or changed altogether to a landmark more representative or well known. Thoughts? Changed it to a prettier picture of the building, any thoughts on other ideas would be appreciated. Stl archivist314 (talk) 03:51, 9 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

change " and the second largest in Illinois." to " and the second largest in Missouri." in top section. St. Louis is in Missouri, no Illinois. Richardblack3 (talk) 04:19, 3 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: It is the largest metro area in Missouri and second-largest in Illinois, as the metro area spans across both states. JTP (talkcontribs) 04:40, 3 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. Shadow311 (talk) 19:31, 3 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Change from:

"Several neighborhoods are lumped together in categories such as "North City", "South City", and "The Central West End"."

To this:

"Several neighborhoods are lumped together in categories such as "North City", "South City", and "The Central West End.""

Fixing: Move the period to behind the quotation marks. 205.155.225.253 (talk) 17:07, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Done I have removed the quotation marks entirely because the manual of style says not to use quotes for locations. Thanks. Jamedeus (talk) 01:04, 1 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Namesake[edit]

Chouteau claimed that St. Louis was named for Louis XV, the reigning French monarch at the time of founding, though there is a hypothesis that Louis Saint-Ange de Bellerive, commander of Upper Louisiana, might have named it after his patron saint, Louis IX.
