Fair use rationale for Image:Raymond Lee Washington - mugshot.gif[edit]

Image:Raymond Lee Washington - mugshot.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 23:29, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

1968 Raymond was 15 years old. Not 1969. because he had not done 16 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.37.61.8 (talk) 19:34, 14 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Citation?[edit]

"Washington's murder was committed with a sawed-off shotgun, and has remained unsolved." Should this be cited?24.181.225.253 (talk) 02:41, 24 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The Avenue Boys, whose territory was on Central Avenue, in the east side -Changed: "The Crips are one of the oldest, largest, and most notorious gangs in the United States,"The Crips are one of the largest and most notorious gangs in the United States." They formed in the early late 1960's/early 1970's. Many active US street gangs have histories that go back to the 1920's-1960's. There are many more street gangs that are inactive, that predate the Crips by 100 years. I wouldn't say oldest, unless you can find a citation for that (other than an online dictionary). 24.181.225.253 (talk) 03:17, 24 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

-This page needs to be re-written with more reliable sources. It seems that most of the info is outdated, or pulled from sources like Lycos. For example, information about Crip rivalries needs to be updated. Some individual Crips gangs have been feuding with other Crip gangs for some time now (just like some individual Blood gangs have been feuding with other Blood gangs). One of these fueds resulted with Hoover Crips forming into a separate gang called Hoover Criminals.

This article still perpetuates the notion that there is a single Crip gang that is made up of hundreds of sets. In reality, there are several distinct Crip gangs (many with sub-sets or clicks) that make up a very loose federation of Crips. The same can be said of Blood gangs. There is no "The Crips," and "The Bloods." There are however, several gangs that claim Crip, and several gangs that claim Blood. 24.181.225.253 (talk) 03:45, 24 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Revisionist History?[edit]

They start a gang - to rid the hood of other gangs for peace, but not to take over those gangs and their dealings? In the end, this article makes it appear as if this criminal was all about peace, when he was about gang bangin. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:558:6017:A2:5943:2A93:E59A:B542 (talk) 19:56, 29 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

"Gang involvement" section needs to be rewritten[edit]

The "Gang involvement" section (and possibly other sections) needs to be rewritten. The style isn't encyclopedic and there are a few grammar and spelling issues. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.148.72.239 (talk) 17:42, 22 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
