I just wanted to note that the CDC Director is a Senior Executive Service position and not a presidentially nominated one, so Fitzgerald takes office immediately as of July 7. It would thus be more precise to say she was "appointed" rather than "nominated". (I have a COI so I'm being careful and not making the change myself.) John P.
