Playback issues[edit]

Strangely, this FLAC version renders as silence for me in Chrome browser (except a brief chirp at the ending), while the compressed OGG version is clearly audible, and the FLAC sounds normal when opening the downloaded file. Is this a problem on my end or some known browser issue? 92.100.106.111 (talk) 18:37, 18 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

That seems to happen to me as well. LOOKSQUARE ♂ (👤️·🗨️) talk 16:31, 9 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Even though it says flac in the title, if you look at network traffic in Inspector, the web player actually plays a compressed ogg. I guess it's compressed by mediawiki to save bandwidth. The ogg compressor on mediawiki's side may have a low-pass filter pre-processing phase that considers 17.4 to be inaudible and removes it. Vattuvaras (talk) 20:58, 5 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
