Angel Bolques Jr. is an American Virgin Islander politician. He serves as a Democratic member for the At-large district of the Virgin Islands Legislature.[1][2]

Early Life and Education[edit]

Angel Bolques Jr. was born on February 2, 1978, on the island of St. Croix, in the United States Virgin Islands. He grew up in the Peters Rest community, where his childhood was marked by strong familial bonds and active community engagement. Bolques spent his early years playing with his siblings and neighborhood friends, fostering a deep appreciation for family values, communal ties, and the rich cultural heritage of the Virgin Islands. These experiences significantly shaped his worldview and commitment to public service, inspiring a lifelong dedication to improving his community.

Bolques began his education at Lew Muckle Elementary School on St. Croix. Following his family's relocation to St. John, he continued his studies at Guy Benjamin Elementary School in Coral Bay and Julius E. Sprauve School in Cruz Bay. He completed his high school education at Ivanna Eudora Kean High School on St. Thomas, where he was recognized for his academic dedication and leadership qualities. In pursuit of higher education, Bolques attended various institutions, studying Business Administration, Graphic Arts, and Communications. Bolques's educational journey did not only focus on academic achievements. He has also served as a member of the Board of Education and contributed to numerous civic-based organizations. Public Service[edit]

Angel Bolques Jr. has served as a Senator-At-Large in the Legislature of the Virgin Islands since July 2022, where he has focused on legislative policy and advocacy for the islands. Prior to this role, he was a Legislative Researcher for Senator Marvin A. Blyden during the 34th Legislature, a position he held for two years. His work involved in-depth analysis of legislative initiatives, ensuring that the laws and policies crafted were in the best interests of Virgin Islanders. Bolques Jr. has also held significant roles within the Virgin Islands Board of Elections and the Board of Education, where he contributed to the governance and policy-setting for education across the United States Virgin Islands.

In the private sector, Angel Bolques Jr. founded Angel Arts Consulting in June 2011, where he has applied his expertise in brand development, strategic consulting, and media production. Events INC., promoting local artists and cultural events that enrich the community's cultural heritage.

Bolques Jr. has a strong background in education. He served as an Administrator and Computer Technology Teacher at Gifft Hill School, St. John, in addition to his role with the Board of Education. He was deeply involved in counseling, technology integration, Virgin Islands History, and community outreach programs.
