Welcome to the tenth Bugle for 2022!

The elections for the XXII project coordinator tranche concluded at the end of September, resulting in ten candidates being elected. Hawkeye7 was elected lead coordinator for the first time after many years' service, and Gog the Mild, CPA-5, Hog Farm, Iazyges, Indy beetle, Vami_IV and Zawed were also re-elected. Pickersgill-Cunliffe and Schierbecker join the coordinator team for the first time -- welcome! Thanks to retiring coordinator Parsecboy and retiring lead coordinator Peacemaker67 for all their work in the past year(s), to FacetsOfNonStickPans and Soldier stories who also stood for election but did not get the numbers, and to all who voted to help keep the project wheels moving.

The regular article news section includes a small but diverse range of items comprising two featured articles, three featured pictures, and three A-class articles. The book review section is limited this month to a round up of interesting recent external reviews.

The op-ed section returns this month with short biographical pieces by several members of the coordinator team, something we hope to continue in future issues.

Awards and honours

Contest department

Another month, another edition of the contest department. September ended with Zawed in first place, with 34 points from six points, resulting in the award of the WikiChevrons. Hog Farm took the runner-up spot, and the Writer's Barnstar, entering three articles worth a collective total of 30 points. Djmaschek, Gog the Mild and Pickersgill-Cunliffe also submitted entries. The October edition of the contest is still open, so get those articles in!
