From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hi Ya Ali, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thanks for your contributions to the coolest online encyclopedia I know of =). I sure hope you stick around; we're always in need of more people to create new articles and improve the ones we already have. You'll probably find it easiest to start with a tutorial of how the wikipedia works, and you can test stuff for yourself in the sandbox. When you're contributing, you'll probably find the manual of style to be helpful, and you'll also want to remember a couple important guidelines. First, write from a neutral point of view, second, be bold in editing pages, and third, use wikiquette. Those are probably the most important ones, and you can take a look at some others at the policies and guidelines page. You might also be interested in how to write a great article and possibly adding some images to your articles.

Be sure to get involved in the community – you can contact me at my talk page if you have any questions, and you can check out the village pump, where lots of wikipedians hang out and discuss things. If you're looking for something to do, check out the community portal. And whenever you ask a question or post something on a talk page, be sure to sign your name by typing ~~~~.

Again, welcome! It's great to have you. Happy editing! --Spangineer (háblame) 10:52, Jun 16, 2005 (UTC)

Honorifics[edit]

Hey Ya Ali! Thanks for contributing more to the list of Ali's descendents!

However, I did revert your edits to Ali Khameini. You added honorifics. If we added honorifics to every name in Wikipedia the encyclopedia would be top-heavy with them. A few editors disagree, but most editors believe that kings, queens, popes, presidents, ayatollahs, prophets, etc. get no speical treatment. Their acomplishments should speak for them. Cite sources[edit]

Hi, I was reading Abu Talib and you did not cite your sources about your addition and you should do that, especially since it contradicts the previous version. I also removed your "s.a.w." next to Muhammad because you cannot do that on an encyclopedia. Enjoy editting but please cite sources when you do it. Wikipedia:Cite sources is a guide in that regard. Have a great day. gren 01:35, 27 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Misconceptions about the Shi'a[edit]

Even though the afd did not show any consensus for merge, the admin has decided that the arguments for merge where better, and has decided that the article should be merged in the already to big Shi'a Islam article, something that make no sense at all. I protested and he answered See it and make your voice heard here: Talk:Misconceptions about the Shi'a

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Hurr ibn Yazid requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Tomayres (talk) 18:43, 16 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Islampura for deletion[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Islampura is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Islampura until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Guru-45 (talk) 04:46, 8 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Mostafa Khamenei requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

Mostafa Khamenei is son of Ali Khamenei, And Not Himself !

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, pages that meet certain criteria may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Notice

The article Shia Mosque has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Looks like a hoax. Impossible to verify as there are lots of "Shia mosques."

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
