Articles Work

please give me a some artice works then i do new page for my clients

@Acafix2: your “clients”? If you’re working for a company then you need to be transparent with that and make it clear on your user page that you are making paid edits for someone. Alex (talk) 08:49, 15 September 2019 (UTC)

Do you not have eyes?

Gallup Korea's link doesn't work anymore without http"s". Why do you remove it without checking? Also, if you check the SBS link, which is the Australian SBS, not the Korean broadcasting station SBS, it says the translation was done by Reddit. Do you think that is reliable? I think Soompi is, at least, more reliable than Reddit. Kwww (talk) 19:25, 17 September 2019 (UTC)

@Kwww: If you’re not mature enough to keep petty insults out of it (your choice of header), don’t bother messaging me. I reverted your edit because, like I said, Soompi is not reliable. Per consensus. See WP:KO/RS. You can easily re-add whatever else it was you’re talking about without reverting a revert. Alex (talk) 19:39, 17 September 2019 (UTC)

South Korean Actors/Actress Date Format like US (Hollywood Actors/Actresses) ?

Alex why South Korean Actors/Actresses use MDY Format like US (Hollywood Actors/Actresses) ? 111.94.203.64 (talk) 13:52, 13 September 2019 (UTC)

Because that is the format in which that article was created and maintained. You have no valid reason to change format. Articles are in one of two date formats: DMY or MDY. This is decided by either strong national ties, or that which was used and maintained. South Korean date format is YMD, which uses month then day, as does the article you changed without providing a valid reason. Alex (talk) 14:03, 13 September 2019 (UTC)
Alex but the Many Article South Korean Actors/Actresses use MDY Format like US (Hollywood Actors/Actresses), Except Park Shin-hye & Ha Ji-won use DMY Format like UK (Europe Actors/Actresses) ? 111.94.203.64 (talk) 14:15, 13 September 2019 (UTC)
That will be the format those articles were created and maintained using. Alex (talk) 14:16, 13 September 2019 (UTC)
Alex or maybe the article was created Inspired from Hollywood Actor/Actresses or US Person ? 111.94.203.64 (talk) 14:29, 13 September 2019 (UTC)
Whatever the reason was, you do not have any reason to be changing article date formats. Alex (talk) 14:38, 13 September 2019 (UTC)

why the Chinese article use UK/Europe Date Format ? 111.94.243.45 (talk) 12:53, 29 September 2019 (UTC)

Regarding Wikipedia images

Hi I am not sure whether I should discuss this on the talk page of Joy or if discussing this directly on your page is better. Hopefully this easier. Although I do understand that any copyrighted image can be used, I do believe it is inappropriate to use a photo of the subject off-duty in a carpark (and returning from an overseas flight not departing). These types of photos are disputed in the community and widely viewed as "saesang" behavior. The image I uploaded instead is from an official red carpet which is in alignment with the other members' professional photos and is more fitting for the importance of a Wikipedia profile. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Netd8 (talkcontribs) 02:48, 25 October 2019 (UTC)

@Netd8: It is irrelevant how fans view “off duty” photos. Wikipedia doesn’t care if the subject was at work, at an airport, what type of image another article uses, etc, it is an encyclopaedia not a blog for K-Pop fans. The image has a valid and correct license, is good quality and shows her face. That is all that is needed. Alex (talk) 02:55, 25 October 2019 (UTC)
@Alexanderlee: I certainly don't consider Wikipedia to be a blog for K-Pop fans, it is an important resource for the general public. As such, a fansite photo taken of the subject in a carpark (without permission) seems inappropriate especially when another photo from an offical event is easily available. There was no compelling reason in the first place for the image to be changed to a worse quality photo. The original photo could be reinstated, but if a compromise is needed then the 2019 red carpet photo would be appropriate.User:Netd8 (talk) 03:22, 25 October 2019 (UTC)

Kill This Love - Japanese Version BLACKPINK

Hello, I see that there is no page for the Japanese EP of Kill This Love by BLACKPINK, and when someone added an empty section for it you removed it, which I understand why. I am just asking, would it be necessary for anyone to create a separate page for it or to create a section in the article for it as I would if needed. I just don’t want to create an edit and then have it removed after having hard work put into it. Thank you for reading (BhadBhabie123 (talk) 12:53, 25 October 2019 (UTC))

@BhadBhabie123: an article should only be created if it passed notability guidelines. I’m not sure whether it would have its own article or be merged with the article for the Korean version though. A whole section about it isn’t needed in the main article though, just mention it in whichever section has the time frame which it was released. Alex (talk) 13:15, 25 October 2019 (UTC)

It looks like the problem was already sorted anyway, thanks for the feedback though anyway! As I am a new editor, the help is nice. (BhadBhabie123 (talk) 21:22, 29 October 2019 (UTC))

Sakura Miyawaki

There's been persistent image-changing at Sakura Miyawaki. I tried asking for page protection and administration intervention but was denied twice. lullabying (talk) 03:52, 22 November 2019 (UTC)

@Lullabying: I’ve requested page protection again, I’m not really sure what else can be done at this point. Essentially what’s happening right now is an edit war over the image. If protection is denied again, I’d suggest leaving another message on the article talk page and tagging an administrator who’s active in Kpop articles, or perhaps there’s another noticeboard where it could be brought up. Seol Jung hwan's photo

Photo may be copyright but I credit them and Need to see this page with actor's photo. All photo have copyright but Use with credit respective. Don't let me down. Laminthurein1411 (talk) 17:10, 8 December 2019 (UTC)

@Laminthurein1411: Credited or not, you can not use a copyrighted image. See Wikipedia's image use policy. Alex (talk) 17:13, 8 December 2019 (UTC)

Seoul Jung hwan's latest drama is Flower path/unasked family . Click Google. my Edit have copyright issues but you edit the whole thing such as edited world. Ok I don't what you are but Your edit will always right what you think. Laminthurein1411 (talk) 20:25, 8 December 2019 (UTC)

The drama appearance that you added was unsourced, as stated in the edit summary. The photo you added is copyrighted and can not be used on Wikipedia. I suggest you read through identifying reliable sources, a list of reliable and unreliable sources relating to South Korea and the Image Use Policy. Alex (talk) 20:28, 8 December 2019 (UTC)

I added that drama on wiki actor profile but you edit like your edits are always right what you think. If you don't like edit ,you may create websites or something but wiki allow people for edit .I was angry from that picture have copyright what you said. I know. So I uploaded that picture with credit to website and those are not belong from me.Ok You are always right. Laminthurein1411 (talk) 20:46, 8 December 2019 (UTC)

@Laminthurein1411: as I have already said, giving credit for the image is not the issue. It is copyrighted which means it CAN NOT be used. That is not negotiable, it’s Wikipedia policy. As for the drama, as I already said, it was unsourced. You did not add a reference. If you can add a reliable source to support this claim, then feel free to add it back to the article. If you need help finding reliable sources, try reading the list of reliable aources relating to the subject. If you continue to add unsourced information, copyrighted images or resort to blatant vandalism again then you will be reverted. Alex (talk) 20:52, 8 December 2019 (UTC)

South Korean Figures like US Figures ?

Why south korean Figures date format use MDY (American Date Format) like US Figures ? 140.213.40.180 (talk) 22:43, 5 December 2019 (UTC)

Not all of them do, some use DMY. If an article has been created and maintained using one date format, do not change that date format without consensus. Alex (talk) 23:19, 5 December 2019 (UTC)
Almost all the South Korean figures use American Date Format on Wikipedia ? 140.213.32.184 (talk) 00:48, 9 December 2019 (UTC)
A lot do, but not all. If articles are created and maintained using a specific date format, then that is what’s used for that article. See MOS:DATEFORMAT and MOS:RETAIN for more. Alex (talk) 00:58, 9 December 2019 (UTC)
But many Article from Chinese figures use British date format rather than American date format like Cui Jian from China use DMY date format, G.E.M. from Hong Kong use DMY date format & Jay Chou from Taiwan use DMY date format ? 140.213.34.54 (talk) 15:40, 10 December 2019 (UTC)
What does that have to do with anything? China, Hong Kong and Taiwan are not South Korea. (By the way, you’re also using incorrect links. If you want to link British date format, link to date and time notation in the United Kingdom, which actually talks about the date format. You don’t need to link purely for the sake of linking something though.) specifically though, I don’t have an answer for you. Why does this particular article use DMY over MDY? I don’t know. The user who created the article chose that format, so that’s what the article was maintained with, and vice versus. Alex (talk) 15:50, 10 December 2019 (UTC)

You see History of article BoA first page created use British date Format (DMY) not American date Format (MDY) on July 2003. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:MobileDiff/1748568 Thank You 140.213.34.54 (talk) 16:02, 10 December 2019 (UTC)

Where it literally only said “16-year old Korean girl who made it big in Korea and Japan” and definitely didn’t warrant an article with just that. Minimal information was added, and the fate change happened here on April 11, 2004. Still with very minimal information and no citations. The article was maintained for fifteen years using MDY.

I still don’t get what your point is. Alex (talk) 16:52, 10 December 2019 (UTC)

Actually, many the South Korean figures suicide followed by US figures like Sulli imitated by Chris Cornell from Soundgarden & Goo Hara imitated by Chester Bennington from Linkin Park are you Satisfield ? 140.213.0.136 (talk) 05:55, 11 December 2019 (UTC)

That is completely irrelevant and has absolutely nothing to do with this discussion. What is your point here? Alex (talk) 15:35, 11 December 2019 (UTC)

Why you created or revision article the South Korean Figures, South Korean programs & South Korean groups with American date Format (MDY Format) not British date format (DMY Format) (DMY Format) ? 140.213.52.14 (talk) 06:52, 12 December 2019 (UTC)

I’ve already explained why. I’m not going over it again. Alex (talk) 07:15, 12 December 2019 (UTC)

The last question why you write South Korean topic on wikipedia use American date Format (MDY Format) not British date format (DMY Format) (DMY Format) ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 140.213.7.115 (talk) 10:03, 12 December 2019 (UTC)

Again, I have already answered. Alex (talk) 10:11, 12 December 2019 (UTC)

Leeteuk

Hi. I want to ask why diff was reverted considering other albums such as Sexy, Free and Single can be mentioned in 2012 part but not this one. Should I write about his participation in writing one of the songs in the new album instead? Lulusword (talk) 10:24, 12 December 2019 (UTC)

Fee free to remove those too. Group activities should be noted on the group’s article. Alex (talk) 10:37, 12 December 2019 (UTC)
But if I only write about how he wrote and composed one of the songs in the new album, that is allowed to be on his article, right? Lulusword (talk) 10:51, 12 December 2019 (UTC)

G-dragon

If G-dragon's life is in a paragraph, then shouldn't his dob and things he did when he was 6 belong in the "early life" paragraph? UB Blacephalon (talk) 14:19, 17 December 2019 (UTC)

@Blacephalon: activities when he was six is mentioned in that paragraph already. The only thing that isn’t is his DOB; feel free to add it there. Alex (talk) 14:31, 17 December 2019 (UTC)
OK Thanks.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Blacephalon (talkcontribs) 15:32, December 17, 2019 (UTC)

Sources on Jung Joon-young birth

Hi Alex, per your changes about Jung's birth....I know the references say different things, but my research found he was born in Jakarta. Plus, when you changed it, you added an incomplete citation, #2, that is showing NO LINKS and red for problems. I prefer you change it back, using my references, please? Thanks,--Bonnielou2013 (talk) 12:13, 27 December 2019 (UTC)

This source I have previously added has a quote of his from a TV show saying he was born in Jakarta. [1], see Citation #3. Thanks,--Bonnielou2013 (talk) 12:16, 27 December 2019 (UTC)

Citation #4 [2] also says he was born in Jakarta.......do you want me to continue? I had previously noticed that his page was incorrect....but I have enough on my hands with all else. I am surprised you would not look at the citations I provided, and assume that his page was "correct". Anyway, please make changes if you agree.--Bonnielou2013 (talk) 12:20, 27 December 2019 (UTC)

I am still looking it over. Even a commenter on the article that you added [3] says he lived in Indonesia, not Malaysia.--Bonnielou2013 (talk) 12:26, 27 December 2019 (UTC)

On JJY's page, Citation #11 is a deadlink that I can't find says he lived in ten countries, nothing about what countries or where he was born......I did find a similar title at Soompi [4], which says he was born in Indonesia, in a quote. My sources both say he was born in Jakarta....that is in Indonesia.--Bonnielou2013 (talk) 12:31, 27 December 2019 (UTC)

I made changes already....I'll leave it to you to make corrections to Jung Joon-young's page, which should have been the one you focused on, anyway. Sorry for being a little impatient, but splitting the pages took hours and I was expecting to be immediately bombarded with fanclubs....not another editor. Thanks.--Bonnielou2013 (talk) 12:40, 27 December 2019 (UTC)

I have no interest in what Soompi says, the site is not reliable. If you disagreed, all you had to do was revert, it didn’t require the drawn out and condescending message to go with it. One edit is hardly bombarding the article, though if you already knew Jung’s article was “incorrect”, perhaps you should have worked on consistency between the two before publishing the chatroom article. Alex (talk) 13:17, 27 December 2019 (UTC)

Let's not end on a bad note Alex. I only mentioned Soompi since I, at first, didn't see the Archived link and searched for the Title of the article. I know we have a caution for Reliable Sources on WikiProject Korea not to use blogs like Soompi (as well as all of WP) and I don't. But, their translations I've matched to Korean articles are most often reliable and it was just for discussion here. I apologize that I'm grumpy as my eyes are bugging out of my head after moving all the references and recovering more on the static page I was working with all day. And I don't like to normally just "Revert" without discussion. I did persist a little, but I usually do overkill on citations anyway. I can't and don't make corrections for everything that I see. Many of the larger K-pop idol pages have fervent fans that like to argue and I don't usually make changes to them, there is enough work elsewhere to do. Your edit was in no way a "bombardment" so I was wrong to say that....I meant the fan types. (But then I'm a fan, too....or I wouldn't be here, right?).....Anyway, hope we are still good. Happy Holidays!--Bonnielou2013 (talk) 13:42, 27 December 2019 (UTC)

Black Swan song

Hi. I am pinging you because I have noticed you monitoring the BTS page. Black Swan song page was linked to the main article yesterday, shortly after the song's release and the song's page has a template which says under construction. I understand the need of the template when the page almost had no information and multiple unreliable citations. Suitable edits have been made following which the article has expanded a bit. Is it safe to remove the template now, considering the way the page is right now? I am quite new to Wikipedia, to be honest, so I am asking this. Also, would you mind helping in editing this page and ping anyone you know who edit similar articles and might be interested in doing the same? Thanks. Ashleyyoursmile (talk) 12:51, 18 January 2020 (UTC)

@Ashleyyoursmile: hi there! The page has a decent amount of information now, so I don't think any major changes would be made. I'd say the template can be removed now, yes. It can always be re-added if anyone thinks it needs major work again. I believe Ss112 has a lot of experience with song articles, and charting? Perhaps they could help in that area? Alex (talk) 15:33, 18 January 2020 (UTC)
I usually only remove the construction template if it's getting towards a week after the editor who placed it and they haven't really edited it since. @Lk95: is the one who added it. I don't particularly agree with adding the template to articles as a safeguard against new page patrollers potentially redirecting an article—it doesn't stop them if there's not an indication of notability, so it's pointless in that respect. I have only placed it where I believed that I would come back and add material as it was made available, even if it's not always panned out that way, and that is what it's for. It's something that a lot of editors do if they're unsure of an article's notability or just something they think needs to be done on new articles when it's not. But if an article has multiple news sources from the get go, it should be fine and we don't need to add it. I agree, it should be removed. Ss112 17:35, 18 January 2020 (UTC)
@Alexanderlee: @Ss112: Thanks for your replies. I'm removing the template.Ashleyyoursmile (talk) 09:07, 19 January 2020 (UTC)

Recent edit to BTS page

Hi. Just noticed that you moved the single and album certifications for "Idol" and Love Yourself: Answer to the 2018 section which is reasonable. However, I find it distorting the chronology in which the certifications have been awarded as in, Idol is the third single to be certified Platinum in the US, so "Boy with Luv" has attained Platinum before Idol. Also, LY: Answer certification is the first Korean album to be certified Platinum, which happened in 2020, so isn't it appropriate to place these under 2020 section? Thanks.Ashleyyoursmile (talk) 17:50, 24 January 2020 (UTC)

@Ashleyyoursmile: No, I was not the editor who moved it to another section. The editor who I reverted is the one who moved it, I reverted their edits for unexplained content removal then noticed they moved it, so I reverted myself to avoid reverting their unexplained edits again. Feel free to move it again, I agree with you anyway. Alex (talk) 18:04, 24 January 2020 (UTC)
@Alexanderlee: Apologies for my ridiculous hasty comment earlier, I missed out that the edits were made my another user.Ashleyyoursmile (talk) 18:11, 24 January 2020 (UTC)

First created South Korea like US by Emperorbma

You know Emperorbma ? Their change BoA article use American date Format (MDY Format) the original format is British date Format (DMY Format) by Angela, on 2003 and you followed by Emperorbma to look South Korea article like US and you new created article about South Korean use US Format inspired by Emperorbma ? 111.94.202.92 (talk) 17:40, 28 January 2020 (UTC)

The very first revision of the BoA article had no information and if created with today's standards would have been deleted fast. All which has been explained to multiple IP editors numerous times, yet here you are asking the same things and using the same article as an example, even using the same date links which I pointed out to one of the previous IPs — makes me wonder if you're the same editor. The first revision of BoA that had any worthwhile information used MDY, and that is what the article has been maintained with and used for over fifteen years. There is absolutely no reason for you to be changing the date format of multiple articles without valid reason or any kid of discussion and consensus. Alex (talk) 17:52, 28 January 2020 (UTC)
The first reason revision of BoA is Emperorbma their revised use American date Format (MDY Format) because their from US & lived in Texas, the original created of BoA use British date Format (DMY Format) & Why the article G.E.M. until now still use British date Format (DMY Format) not revised to American date Format (MDY Format) like BoA ? 111.94.202.92 (talk) 18:28, 28 January 2020 (UTC)
What other article uses is not relevant. I've already explained why BoA uses MDY. Whatever format G.E.M uses is completely irrelevant to what date format other articles use. G.E.M has used DMY since it was created. Alex (talk) 18:41, 28 January 2020 (UTC)
As a side note, you don't need to keep adding links to everything, especially when you've already linked to it. Alex (talk) 18:50, 28 January 2020 (UTC)
BoA also originally use DMY was first created before US Wikipedians like Emperorbma revised looked like US articles 111.94.202.92 (talk) 22:34, 28 January 2020 (UTC)
I have already explained why BoA uses MDY. The first revision which actually had any information used MDY. Alex (talk) 22:49, 28 January 2020 (UTC)

And why many arricles Chinese figures use DMY not Use MDY ? 111.94.202.92 (talk) 03:00, 29 January 2020 (UTC)

Please read Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Dates and numbers; it will have the information you need. General rule of thumb is the date format is based on whichever format the first editor used, or it depends on which country they are associated with. Part of why Chinese articles use DMY is because of British occupation, hence English speakers are more used to using DMY. lullabying (talk) 19:41, 30 January 2020 (UTC)

The Honorable of Wikipedians, especially lullabying, I'm very strange with South Korean use MDY like US, example BoA firstly made article use British date Format (DMY Format) by Angela, on 2003, on 2004 the article change to American date Format (MDY Format) by Emperorbma because South Korea of American occupation and many (almost all) article about South Korea use American date Format (MDY Format) rather than Chinese Articles use British date Format (DMY Format) ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 111.94.202.92 (talk) 22:55, 30 January 2020 (UTC)

This has all been explained to you multiple times, on multiple talk pages, by multiple editors. I don't know how anyone can explain it anymore than it already has been. Yes, the first revision of BoA which had any dates mentioned used DMY, we have established that. Yes, another editor changed this to MDY. Why? Probably because that's which date format is used where that particular editor is based. That edit was the first non-stub of the article which had any relevant information, and the article has since been maintained using that format, for over fifteen years now. Why do other articles use DMY and not MDY? Probably because whoever created it chose that format. As explained multiple times, by multiple editors. If you still do not understand it, then I suggest you stop worrying about it. It isn't a big deal, and it's not something which needs to be changed so there is nothing to worry about. Multiple editors have pointed out some pages to read with more information, including MOS:DATEFORMAT and MOS:RETAIN yet you continue to ask the same questions. I honestly do not know how else this can be explained to you. Alex (talk) 23:05, 30 January 2020 (UTC)

Irene's signature

Hi there Alexanderlee! I've seen that you removed the supposed signature displayed in Irene's page. I'm well aware that this is the official signature of Irene. I know it is her official signature since it is displayed on Red Velvet's digital booklet which is available only in iTunes. For more reference, you can refer to search her signature on Google. Thank you.

--Wiki.smtown (talk) 04:45, 2 February 2020 (UTC)Wiki.smtown

Lol, anyone could upload some scribbles and claim it to be her signature, there's no evidence that it is her signature on the file. Telling someone to google her signature is like telling someone to google anything else that's in an article — it still needs sourcing. Alex (talk) 05:16, 2 February 2020 (UTC)

Sources should be secondary sources. Plus, it's not my talk page where it shoild be sourced, it's the file itself. See the signature on Kang Daniel's article as an example. Alex (talk) 06:36, 2 February 2020 (UTC)

Lim Seul Ong

Hi, I have a source that he is now signed with Jellyfish Entertainment as of February 4, 2020. However I'm unsure where to place the info on his page. NCT Dream Graduated Member

Hey there @Alexanderlee!! I just want to know why you changed the heading "Graduated Members" to "Former Members" in NCT Dream's page. Apparently, Mark is a graduated member. It is even written that they follow a graduation system in the page itself. Moreover, former member sounds like he left the group on his own. So it is better to write "Graduated Members", I think. Even in some famous K-pop related pages, he is mentioned as graduated member. So please, I request, do not change the title. Thank You. Mimichannie (talk) 21:57, 4 February 2020 (UTC)

SM can call it what they like for marketing purposes, but the fact is that he is a former member. Same way After School (group) says former members. Whether a member left voluntarily or not is irrelevant, doesn’t stop them being a former member. Alex (talk) 23:48, 4 February 2020 (UTC)

Kpop music show wins

Hello! Noticed that you are primarily involved on South Korean entertainment pages so just wanted to ask if there was a previous discussion/agreement by editors to remove the music show award wins of Kpop acts? Most of the groups I've viewed no longer have that section in their Awards and nominations so I just want to confirm if they can be added in the group or not. Thank you. Lullabyebye (talk) 04:24, 7 February 2020 (UTC)

@Lullabyebye: Yes, editors came to a consensus and the discussion can be found here. Alex (talk) 14:13, 7 February 2020 (UTC)
@Alexanderlee: Thank you for the response. Have read the discussion. Won't add them then. Thanks! Lullabyebye (talk) 07:10, 7 February 2020 (UTC)

Reliable source

Please note, that you are violating Wikipedia rules, removing content, just because YOU thinking that there is no reliable source of information. It is just your opinion, and user opinion (without any proof) isn't plausible cause for removal other users edits. Please note, that according to Wikipedia rules audio/video sources are also reliable sources and these sources don't need to be described in other sources to be used directly on Wikipedia. I can write what I can hear/see on these sources and this is not considered as Original Research but as proper use of sources. I case of movie/TV series most reliable source is this movie/TV series itself. I can see actor mentioned in credits. And according to Wikipedia rule I mentioned earlier, I can write that this actor was cast of this movie just because I have seen him in credits. ANYBODY can confirm that it is true, looking at same credits. Do you have ANY proof that my edit was wrong? Do you found ANY mistake from my side? If not, you are not wikipedian who is building something, but troll who is destroying. I can send you snapshots of credits with actor name, or snapshot of actor face in the movie, if you like, but this is not your job to approve my work. If you do not have any proof that somebody did something wrong, you should not delete it, because it is something what only troll and vandal is doing, wikipedian should discuss first. I hope that you remove your trolling edit as soon as possible.KarlHeintz (talk) 20:33, 13 February 2020 (UTC)

@KarlHeintz: the fact is, you added a mass of information and failed to cite any sources to support any of the information. Information needs to be supported by a reliable, secondary source, the fact you saw the credits of the show does not change this, and calling me a troll because you don't understand that doesn't change anything. I did not once state that your edits were "wrong", I stated that you did not provide any sources. Alex (talk) 20:40, 13 February 2020 (UTC)

Lee Sang Yoon Page

Hi there,

I work for J Wide's English speaking portal sites team and am responsible for ensuring that Lee Sang Yoon and some other J Wide artists are well represented on English sites (to be further edited by myself and other team members). I am not required to give you in particular evidence of that and by reverting my verified information on the artists, you will be opening yourself up to liability from my company for reverting information approved in use by the agency. Our artist's image and representation on the internet is of utmost important to us at J Wide and if we are uploading images for profile pages (with permission from the authorized image sources) and updating the English wikipedia pages with information on works then you should not be undoing them and accusing us of "conflict of interest". It is our job and we're just doing it. If you have any questions on the validity of information and permissions of image usage, please contact us through our official company email address.

We will give you 24 hours to revert back Lee Sang Yoon's image and ensure that future authorized updates and changes by us are not to be reverted. We hope that you will cooperate with us here at J Wide.

Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kimvdc (talkcontribs) 04:14, 27 February 2020 (UTC)

@Kimvdc: If you are working on behalf of someone else, then yes, you should be declaring this on your user page, and yes, it would mean you have a conflict of interest. I am now going to ping @Explicit: (as one of the only administrator's usernames that I remember) for advice on where to go from here. Explicit, for context please see edit history at Lee Sang-yoon. TIA. Alex (talk) 04:26, 27 February 2020 (UTC)
@Alexanderlee: We are not adding changes into personal information or anything else. Only want to add any previous uncredited works and add a nicer image. For the longest time this page did not even have an image associated so I don't see what's wrong in making the page a little more presentable. Let me know what resolution comes out of this issue. Thanks!

Career

Excuse me, but what sense does it have to take away "career"? Then even the BTS must be removed and put history and no career. Bye. Ghostintears (talk) 16:55, 28 February 2020 (UTC)

@Ghostintears: what sense does it make to change something for no reason, that doesn't need changing? There are also plenty examples which use history instead of career: The Beatles, Queen (band), One Direction, Little Mix, Seo Taiji and Boys, Deux, g.o.d and so on. Images

Hi, I thought Korea Dispatch allows users to reuse even without stating licensing. Just like Joy’s picture on her article and previous Suzy’s images. Correct me if I’m wrong as I’m not really sure about wikimedia commons and its regulations. Thank You :) Coolbruh123 (talk) 07:43, 29 February 2020 (UTC)

@Coolbruh123: If licensing isn't stated then your best bet is to presume the image is copyrighted. The licensing for Joy's article seems to have the same problem, I'll have a look through commons to see if I can find any other images that look to have the right licensing. If you look at File:Jennie Kim for Marie Claire Korea Magazine on October 9, 2018 (5).png, the source given is this video. In the description box of this video at the bottom it says the licence. This is what you need to look out for. Alex (talk) 08:04, 29 February 2020 (UTC)
@Coolbruh123: I looked again at the file currently used on Joy's article. Although the video in the source doesn't state any license information, the file states that it was reviewed by an admin who confirmed it did have correct licensing at the time they checked it. This most likely means that the video did have the licence in the description but have since removed it. As far as I'm aware this means that the image can still continue to be used once already used under that license. For the images you uploaded though, the file(s) haven't been reviewed so I don't think the same would apply here. I could be wrong there though. @Explicit: could you explain this, please? Alex (talk) 08:19, 29 February 2020 (UTC)

Does this mean I still can update the images in the article until someone has reviewed and said that it is not allowed and has to be removed? Since there is a chance that it will be accepted after the review too. Thanks. Coolbruh123 (talk) 09:13, 29 February 2020 (UTC)

@Coolbruh123: I don't think so. If the licence isn't there then it can't be confirmed and the file will most likely be deleted for not having a valid license for use. Perhaps wait for more information from an Admin at least, I may be incorrect. Alex (talk) 09:19, 29 February 2020 (UTC)
Okay thank you. Do update me after you have gotten the information from the admin. Thanks. Coolbruh123 (talk) 09:57, 29 February 2020 (UTC)

Regarding File:20191002 조이.png, the video in question was originally licensed under Creative Commons at the time of its upload and the reviewing user verified this. The URL was archived and you can see the license there. However, it seems that Dispatch has recently decided to stop offering its videos under Creative Commons; the previous videos have all been changed to the Standard YouTube License, which is not compatible with Wikimedia Commons. As Creative Commons licenses are irrevocable, all previous videos and screenshots from Dispatch can still be used without a problem as long as they have been reviewed, we simply can no longer use their new content moving forward. Coolbruh123, I've had to delete a vast majority of your uploads because the videos are not licensed under Creative Commons. The video must clearly be marked as such. Additionally, you need to tag your uploads with the LicenseReview template. ƏXPLICIT 11:44, 29 February 2020 (UTC)

Explicit Then do you know any websites to upload the images? Or can you help to update some of them? Thank You! Coolbruh123 (talk) 12:29, 29 February 2020 (UTC)

RM IS THE MAIN RAPPER

Hello .As I notice in the RM wiki page .You removed "Main" rapper.Although He is the main rapper of BTS not Suga! Bananapooiiiip (talk) 22:16, 3 March 2020 (UTC)

@Bananapooiiiip: "main" is not included in RM's article, or Suga's article, so I don't see the point of this message. Also, no, I did not remove it. "Main" is not included per consensus. If you have any issues, bring it up on the article talk page. Alex (talk) 22:21, 3 March 2020 (UTC)

What are your criteria for deletion?

It's an important list of compositions in his life. Why do you delete them?

Like I said in the edit summary, see the section further down in the article. There is an entire list article dedicated to this. Alex (talk) 17:15, 5 March 2020 (UTC)

reliable source (Big Bang)

Why do you state that not all unreliable sources were removed when I removed them? I reviewed all the sources that were more than 300, one by one, to simply you revert and lose the work done for the sole goal of improving the article. Where's the evidence for what you say? --PriscillaK.01 (talk) 23:13, 12 March 2020 (UTC)

Because, as I stated, not all unreliable sources were removed. If you would look at the page I linked you to, WP:KO/RS, you will see that Soompi is not reliable. If you see maintenance templates are re-added after you remove them, there is clearly a reason for adding them. If you do not see the reason, discuss rather than repeatedly removing. Some of the unreliable sources were removed, yes, others were not. Alex (talk) 23:21, 12 March 2020 (UTC)

Ahn hyo seop was a guest in running man . I saw this ep tonight It is mentioned in running man's wikipedia you can check it Sara.hyoseop (talk) 00:03, 15 March 2020 (UTC)

Sara.hypseop and, like I have said multiple times now, guesting is not listed. Alex (talk) 00:09, 15 March 2020 (UTC)

Why? Sara.hyoseop (talk) 00:11, 15 March 2020 (UTC) I said i saw him in ep 424 Sara.hyoseop (talk) 00:12, 15 March 2020 (UTC) How can be like this when i saw him in ep ?? Sara.hyoseop (talk) 00:13, 15 March 2020 (UTC)

Sara.hyoseop you can keep saying you saw him in the episode all you like, guesting is still not listed. Consensus among editors is to only include variety show appearances if they are A) a cast member/host of the show or B) the appearance was particularly notable (which would require being also written in prose to explain why such appearance was notable). Both options would also require a reliable source. Alex (talk) 00:15, 15 March 2020 (UTC)

I wish i can send a picture to prove it Sara.hyoseop (talk) 00:15, 15 March 2020 (UTC)

Sara.hyoseop it doesn't need to be proved. Guesting is NOT listed. I will not be responding again. Alex (talk) 00:17, 15 March 2020 (UTC)

What a bad Consensus among editors is this Sara.hyoseop (talk) 00:19, 15 March 2020 (UTC)

After 2 years it is not listed yet /: Sara.hyoseop (talk) 00:21, 15 March 2020 (UTC)

@Sara.hyoseop: Only the appearance as "a regular cast member" or "a long-term guest" in multi episodes will be listed in the "Filmography" section of a South Korean artist's English wiki page. All appearances as a one-episode guest will be removed. Here is the English Wikipedia, we (WikiProject Korea's members) discussed and agreed this issue here. If you want to see his appearance as a one-episode guest in variety show, please access to the Korean Wikipedia page, where doesn't have any rule like that. If you want re-add it in English Wikipedia page, you should have to discuss first here. Adding without discussing will be all removed like before, and after many times like that, you may be blocked from editing in English Wikipedia. Kenny htv (talk) 04:06, 15 March 2020 (UTC)

Copyright

Hello, I wanted to thank you for helping me. I have a few questions and I'll be forever grateful if you can help me again. If I'm the owner of the picture that i made myself how i should credit, also do i need the written consent in english if i was to use a picture that it's not mine? Oh! also if the imagen comes from the personality SNS like twitter or instagram. What is the way to credit it? Thank you again Nayramoo (talk) 01:24, 18 March 2020 (UTC)

@Nayramoo: I've only recently started venturing into the image side of Wikipedia so I don't want to give you any wrong information, I'm still learning it all myself too. I think my best advice at this moment would be to read through the various policies, guidelines and information pages regarding images, such as the following:
Anything further than that I would suggest asking an editor with more experience in the image side of things. If in doubt, you can always ask for help. You could try asking the Wikicommons administrator on your talk page on Wikimedia Commons, too. Alex (talk) 01:43, 18 March 2020 (UTC)

Filmography

Hi, I am new to Wikipedia and have some enquiries about variety shows. I have noticed that guest appearances should not be listed. However, on Jeon So-mi’s page, Somi was a guest on Battle Trip, I Can See Your Voice and Not the Same Person You Used to Know. Should these be listed as guest appearances shouldn’t be listed? And Somi has a reality series called “I Am Somi” and why couldn’t this be listed? She is a cast member and many other celebrities’ reality series could be listed. Just want to be sure of the dos and donts here, thank You! Mcdmusicman (talk) 04:20, 27 March 2020 (UTC)

@Mcdmusicman: I removed the appearances that I knew for sure were guest roles, the ones I was unsure if I left. As far as I remember, I didn’t remove I Am Somi, but if you have a reliable source for it (a reliable secondary source, not YouTube or tweets or anything like that) then feel free to add it. You can read the discussion regarding removal of variety show appearances here for a better understanding. Alex (talk) 12:37, 27 March 2020 (UTC)
Oh it was another user who removed I Am Somi even though there were references so I wanted to ask. Thank you so much. I still think that those articles are guest appearances only for Somi though. Since Battle Trip has its main MCs and Somi is only a traveller unlike a cast member. I can see your voice has MCs like Kim Jong-kook , Leeteuk and Lee Se-yoon while Not the Same Person You Used to Know has its own set of MCs too and Somi isn't part of those MC or cast member list. Will she be considered as a guest and should it be listed? Mcdmusicman (talk) 14:52, 27 March 2020 (UTC)
@Mcdmusicman: As far as I know, her own show could/should be listed as long as there is a reliable secondary source to support the information. The other shows which you've mentioned are ones that I've never watched and I don't know anything about, so I'm totally unsure for those. I think @Abdotorg and Snowflake91: may have a better idea of those than I do. I've pinged them, so they will be aware of the discussion here and may reply here, if not you could try asking on their talk page. Alex (talk) 15:41, 27 March 2020 (UTC)
I have removed the guesting from Somi's page, thanks for pointing it out! Somi's own show however is a grey area as it is on YouTube not a TV network, I think for now it can remain in place especially since it has a reliably sourced ref. Abdotorg (talk) 20:15, 27 March 2020 (UTC)

Removal of statements from BIGBANG-related articles

Isn't BIGBANG considered one of the most influential groups in kpop? Why erase that from GD's article? And other relevant info on other BIGBANG members? Jamiejunes (talk) 21:40, 30 March 2020 (UTC)

@Jamiejunes: Because what you added iS unsourced puffery. Alex (talk) 22:12, 30 March 2020 (UTC)

Dude where would it be written bigbang is influential? Its common knowledge.... Do i have to provide source whether its a South Korean band or not? Or is that common knowledge? Didn't state any false facts Jamiejunes (talk) 22:15, 30 March 2020 (UTC)

@Jamiejunes: claims like that need to be reliably sourced. You also claimed that Daesung is is considered one of the best voaclists in South Korea, T.O.P is considered as one of the best and most influential rappers in South Korea. According to who? Who has made such claims? None of these claims are sourced. Claiming they are the best is also WP:PUFFERY, and not WP:NEUTRAL. Big Bang being a South Korean band is sourced extensively, so that isn't a valid argument. Alex (talk) 22:24, 30 March 2020 (UTC)

@Ghostintears: it didn't chart on Gaon. Their only albums to chart on the album chart are Square Up and Kill This Love, I'm guessing it's because it was a Japanese release and wasn't released physically in South Korea? Alex (talk) 10:44, 9 May 2020 (UTC)

Soompi and Rakuten Viki

Please do not delete information from reliable sources. Soompi is an English-language website providing coverage of Korean pop culture. Rakuten is the owner of the website and its parent company is Viki. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Viki_(website) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soompi [2] It has one of the largest international Internet communities for K-pop,[3] mostly concentrated in news and forums. With more than 23 million fans across all platforms, Soompi offers English and Spanish services.[4] — Preceding unsigned comment added by Inkreader (talkcontribs) 11:46, 17 May 2020 (UTC)

@Inkreader: I haven't removed anything that cites a reliable source. I've removed information which uses an unreliable source; Soompi is not a reliable source. See WP:KO/RS. Telling me what Soompi is and copy-pasting information from other articles doesn't change that fact. Please remember to sign talk page comments with four tidles (~). User:LDMGS renaming articles

Thanks for letting this user know about their misnaming articles. You might have to keep tabs on them and maybe revert any of their future moves as well—don't be afraid to revert moves in this way if you're definitely sure the articles are misnamed (as these were). If you can't move them yourself (as in, they've gone and edited where they moved it from), just request it at WP:RM/TR. Ss112 10:40, 22 May 2020 (UTC)

@Ss112: it's actually not the first time I've seen them make incorrect moves and I don't recall them ever discussing beforehand. Attempted to revert myself but had to take it to RM. I see you've changed them back now though so I'll go ahead and remove those requests. Thanks for the message! Alex (talk) 10:44, 22 May 2020 (UTC)
Oh, I didn't see that! Sorry for assuming you didn't know/wouldn't go to RM. Ss112 10:51, 22 May 2020 (UTC)

Reversion

Mobile editing does not provide a citation tool. It is only available in desktop view. Next time just add a 'citation needed' tag instead of reverting and making things even harder for a conscientious editor—who in this case was actually done adding those citations and was prevented from uploading them by your going off half-cocked. Patronanejo (talk) 18:16, 29 May 2020 (UTC)

@Patronanejo: perhaps you should have bothered to use an edit summary to state you were following up with sources. Alex (talk) 18:19, 29 May 2020 (UTC)

Hi, I just wanted to drop you a note regarding all the recent disruption at Lee Min-ho (actor) and The King: Eternal Monarch. I filed a sockpuppet investigation against several accounts I suspected were related. A CheckUser found that a single editor was operating 26 sockpuppets, which have all been blocked. I did not expect such a large group, so we'll have to be extra vigilant over these two articles. If you see similar editing behavior from any account henceforth, please feel free to contact me directly (or file another investigation if you're up for it). Thank you. Gray (singer)

Hey there, I saw your message. I literally came to add edits related to Penomeco on his page, while I was updating Penomeco's page at the same time that night. Sorry if I shouldn't mark it as a minor edit, I guess Wikipedia is stiff in that sense. Now that I edited Penomeco's page.. are you planning to police me for that too?

Also, do you now govern Gray's Wikipedia page? I'm not his fan so I don't think I should be updating the rest of his Wikipedia page, but um... it's getting quite outdated. And there are almost no citations for the list of songs in there. https://www.melon.com/artist/song.htm?artistId=672625#params%5BlistType%5D=F&params%5BorderBy%5D=ISSUE_DATE&params%5BartistId%5D=672625&po=pageObj&startIndex=1

@Yoonwol: why would I govern the article? If you think it needs updating you're welcome to do it yourself. I undid your edit because it was unsourced, plain and simple. If you already saw my message on your talk page, then all it is telling you is that you need to add sourced when you edit, there are links within that message explaining how to do so. The second omen has links explaining what should and should not be marked as a minor edit. Alex (talk) 05:53, 1 July 2020 (UTC)

Lee Donghae Page

Hi,

Okay, so I understood from why my previous edit, placing guestings in TV shows were undone because only recurring roles or "casted" roles are supposed to be placed there since Lulusword explained that. Instead, for actual reference for people who might want to know about guestings of idol on other variety shows, why was that undone. Kindly clarify. Is it in the policy of wikipedia that it can't be edited to include actual guestings?

Apologies if my edits were disruptive but kindly clarify why it is so.

Thanks.

Guest appearances are not listed per consensus. Only roles where they are a permanent cast member or host. Alex (talk) 11:11, 1 July 2020 (UTC)

Hi, I'm Sacrilegious0, noticed that you undo the edit can you advise why.

I uploaded from creative common youtube source video and added the image to common.

Why it was then undo.

as I stated in my edit summary, it is a copyright violation. The image states a CC license, however there is no such license stated on the video. Alex (talk) 18:02, 13 July 2020 (UTC)

The description box of the video you sourced does not state any license and the image has already been deleted by another editor, if it had correct licensing they would not have deleted it. Please sign your talk page comments with four tildes (~). Alex (talk) 18:19, 13 July 2020 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for July 20

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Rosé (singer), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Vogue (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Question for you

Hi, I think this is the way to contact you, I’m not sure. Can I ask how my source wasn’t reliable? I went on GDragons Instagram to check and it’s the same number that was on the site. NiaHawk (talk) 21:00, 22 July 2020 (UTC)

@NiaHawk: having correct information doesn’t necessarily make a source reliable. WP:Reliable sources will have more information and probably a better explanation that I can give you. Alex (talk) 21:41, 22 July 2020 (UTC)

Hello, I’m kind of confused on where my message went. But did you receive it? If not I’ll type it again. I’m sorry to keep bothering you. NiaHawk (talk) 22:24, 22 July 2020 (UTC)

@NiHawk: your message is right above my reply. If you clicked the "new section" tab to leave your message, it's at the bottom of the talk page. Alex (talk) 22:56, 22 July 2020 (UTC)

I said that I have two more questions, and that’s it. I’ll leave you alone after this, because I feel like I’m bothering you. I tried posting a link to a source but I don’t think I can post it on the talk page. Is this trackalytics.com a reliable source? I went on the page and typed in Gdragon and his account popped up with a link to his Instagram and it shows his current following on the website. What do you think?

Also, I was confused with the redundant comment you made. It says that Gdragon was the first and only idol to win the award for most copyright/ royalties in 2018 (I don’t believe I tried changing that). However, I do think it’s important to note that Gdragon still has the most copyrighted/ royalties than any other idol (according to the KOMCA website). Any thoughts on this? It’s fine if you don’t agree, I’ll leave it alone after your thoughts. Thank you! NiaHawk (talk) 23:14, 22 July 2020 (UTC)

@NiaHawk: I don't know if it’s a reliable source or not, but we don't need an updated follower count. The one I added is from June and is recent enough. Mentioning followers is something that's easily going to become outdated as the individual gains more followers. "having more copyrights and royalties than any other K-pop idol" is not in the source that simply lists song credits. Looking back, not exactly redundant, but not reliably sourced. I think I had misread the next sentences which is probably why I said redundant. Alex (talk) 05:47, 23 July 2020 (UTC)

Ok, I understand now. I really appreciate you being so active and punctual with this page. I’ll leave everything alone now, thanks for mentioning these things to me. Take care! NiaHawk (talk) 05:56, 23 July 2020 (UTC)

@NiaHawk: please don't feel like you need to stop editing the article (or any articles), you're more than welcome to contribute! You definitely weren't bothering me, we all start somewhere and there's a a fair bit to Wikipedia to learn along the way, I'm still learning new things myself. I'm happy to answer any questions and if I don't have an answer myself I'll try to point you in the right direction. You take care, too! Alex (talk) 08:03, 23 July 2020 (UTC)

Yoo Ah-in - Television show section update

Hi Alexanderlee, I'm the one updating the Television show section for the Yoo Ah-in wiki a few moments ago. I would just like to ask why you undid my latest update? I have already stated appropriate sources that are not wiki pages. Please advise. Thanks! - Rach from Manila, PH 120.29.84.21 (talk) 17:21, 25 July 2020 (UTC)

As I stated in my edit summaries the first two times, guesting is not listed. Alex (talk) 17:42, 25 July 2020 (UTC)

Thanks for your reply, Alexanderlee! Have actually noted the comments from your earlier edit summaries, so I searched for better sources that show the guesting on the episode numbers mentioned: - For Running Man (2013) - ep 164, refer to indicated source link: "https://next-episode.net/running-man/season-2013". Under ep 164 (Great Inheritance) when clicked, it shows that the guests for that episode were Yoo Ah-in and Kim Hae-sook (actual spelling of her name). - For I Live Alone (2020) - ep 350 & 351, refer to indicated source link: "https://www.viu.com/ott/ph/en-us/vod/278228/I-Live-Alone-2020". You will see that episodes 350 & 351 are all about Yoo Ah-in including the episode details indicated.

Hope you could reconsider my update and the sources. Thanks! - Rach from Manila, PH 120.29.84.21 (talk) 18:00, 25 July 2020 (UTC)

I don't mean that they're not mentioned as guests in the sources, I mean we do not list guest appearances in the filmography section, sourced or not. Alex (talk) 18:47, 25 July 2020 (UTC)

Oh okay. How about if I do another section for variety show appearances? The 2 shows I'm listing are both variety shows, and I see other wiki pages for Korean actors with the same section (and surprisingly under their Filmographies). Please advise. Thanks! - Rach from Manila, PH 120.29.84.21 (talk) 19:07, 25 July 2020 (UTC)

No, you're not reading what I'm saying. I did not say variety show appearances are not listed. Guest appearances are not listed. Alex (talk) 19:15, 25 July 2020 (UTC)

Hi Alex, with this, I have to improve what was previously updated in the wiki page, then. What I've been trying to add are both variety show appearances and not just guest appearances (the term "guest star" is confusing so will omit this one). Hope this clarifies. 120.29.84.21 (talk) 19:23, 25 July 2020 (UTC)

The two appearances you have been adding are guest appearances. Yoo was not a cast member, nor a host, of either of the two shows. The term isn't confusing at all. Alex (talk) 19:33, 25 July 2020 (UTC)

Park Ji-min and Jeon Jung-kook as record producers

Is there an article or official website that clarifies their occupational status as record producers? Since they have been the producers of at least one song each under Big Hit Entertainment and are still employed with the agency, isn't this addition technically correct? SoundCloud singles even describe Jungkook's studio as "@Golden Closet". Katabatic03 talk 09:48, 1 August 2020 (UTC)

For the purposes of Wikipedia, we do not need to list them as record producers for one or two songs. Alex (talk) 13:10, 1 August 2020 (UTC)

Reply

Because since the age of one she has been in South Korea so the article should not specify Canadian English, in my view Atlantic306 (talk) 01:44, 3 August 2020 (UTC)

Removing about Park Jihoon Cfs/Endorsement/Collaboration section

I have checked other idol like kang daniel, he has his own Endorsement section under other ventures, not in career. I also add the same like them. Why park jihoon can't add? Adding in career is not visible all his hardwork for cfs. Please kindly advice where we should add for peopke visible or please help to add all park jihoon cfs in wiki tun (talk) 09:01, 13 August 2020 (UTC)

@Yinwai83: and you'll also notice that Kang's endorsements are in a details prose, with reliable secondary sourcing. They are not in a list that tells you nothing, with primary sourcing or no sourcing at all. Alex (talk) 09:23, 13 August 2020 (UTC)

Thanks, so if I can add more details about the cfs, I can add endorsements section. Should not be list only, right. tun (talk) 09:29, 13 August 2020 (UTC)

@Yinwai83: Well, yes, but it also needs to be sourced with reliable, secondary sources, not from the website/brand/company themselves. Also titling the section just "endorsements" would be fine, no need for "CFs/endorsements/collaborations". Keep notability in mind too, not everything needs to be mentioned just because he was in it. Change of Jin to Kim repeatedly despite explanations

Two things, A) Jin is Korean his culture is Korean and it does not give you a right to disrespect his culture like that. B) If you are that serious about your "English Wikipedia" change his name to Seok-jin Kim as it is not the Korean Wikipedia either. Seokjinnie moon (talk) 14:56, 12 August 2020 (UTC)

@Seokjinnie moon: Two things: 1. We are well aware he's Korean, that's very clearly stated in the article. There's also a hatnote which states that it is a korean name, and the family name is Kim. Nobody is disrespecting him. 2. See MOS:SURNAME, which this article follows because it uses his full name and not his mononym or stage name like the other members' articles. Alex (talk) 15:12, 12 August 2020 (UTC)

I would like to point out that all the other member's articles has their stage names. And also YOU have been editing them too. So why is Jin an exception? I'm confused, why are the other members' not having this issue? SmallPotatoHeh333 (talk) 03:29, 15 August 2020 (UTC)

@SmallPotatoHeh333: I've already stated why, in my reply to Seokjinnie above; the other members article name is their stage name whereas Jin's is his birth name. Alex (talk) 08:44, 15 August 2020 (UTC)
I'm still not getting the answer why the other members have their stage names. SmallPotatoHeh333 (talk) 04:06, 16 August 2020 (UTC)
@SmallPotatoHeh333: Can't help you then. Alex (talk) 04:08, 16 August 2020 (UTC)

Hi Alex, With this IP hopper causing disruptive to a large amount of articles in the recent weeks with no end in sight, do you think it's worth creating an LTA case for this guy? User Raolae continually reverting edits and adding unnecessary revisions to Joy (Singer) page

In just the last month the user Raolae has made 26 edits on the wikipedia page of Joy (Singer). Some of the changes were useful such as creating a new section for endorsements, however many of the edits have deleted citations, deleted italics, removed information, and involved unnecessary rewording of paragraphs that have made the content more difficult to understand and are poorly worded. I have attempted to correct these edits, however Raolae has now undone my revisions three times in less than 24 hours. I have also noticed that previously you have had to correct their multiple edits on this page too, so I am not sure how a consensus can best be reached with this user. Thank you for any help. Ldnyellow (talk) 04:30, 11 September 2020 (UTC)

Excuse me, Ldnyellow. You have been the one removing citations under the 2020 (digital chart citations) section. Also, Joy's wikipedia should be factual/bibliographical, but it's has so much unnecessary fancruft that is added to it, descriptions of things that do not need to be described, long-ended paragraphs. I am a Joy fan too, but if fellow singers like Taeyeon had such descriptive wikis, it would be entirely too long. We need to highlight the notable parts of Joy's career, not create a book that serves fan purposes and leeways from Wikipedia's purpose, which is give objective, descriptive data.

Also, the edits that Alex fixed was an issue on my part. I go between visual edits and manual ones, as well as fixing that one section (copy to paste) which possibly was the reason the italics ended up being removed. But it wasn't my intention to remove it, it's just I didn't notice it went from being italics to regular font. Raolae (talk) 05:40, 11 September 2020 (UTC)

@Raolae I will put this discussion on the talk page of Joy (singer) so we can hopefully reach a consensus. I will note that as my edits show, I have not removed any citations under the 2020 (digital chart citations) but have instead revised the kcharts information to what is actually stated in the citation listed (a citation I provided). Your edit lists individual chart positions on Naver for example but does not provide any source. That is why I edited the information to show the correct translation of the article, the Gaon charting, and Billboard charting. I have actually been the editor who has been continually updating the chart positions and providing their citations, and translating Korean articles accurately. I would suggest that you do indeed look at Taeyeon's page as an example, which the previous edit was far more closer to in terms of content than your revised version now shows. The new edits you have made are often grammatically incorrect, more descriptive and less objective than the previous text, and have removed citations and information according to your personal discretion and not according to any necessity. For example, you have deleted all quotes from producers regarding Joy's voice in the public image section because you stated it is "fancruft". However, Taeyeon's page lists multiple quotes throughout her article without any issue. I would agree that only one quote is needed from a producer, but removing all quotes is unnecessary. My intention is to provide properly referenced information regarding a person's career and hopefully we can come to a consensus. Ldnyellow (talk) 22:47, 11 September 2020 (UTC)

Hi - @Ldnyellow, I don't intend to fight or make this a big deal. It does not deserve to appear in the talk:Joy (singer) page as my edits have been in good faith. I am vandalizing her page to you? I am just trying to make it better while adhering to the guidelines, just like you claim too as well. If I forget a citation in said revision, that was not intentional. Also, since we are talking about it already, Taeyeon arguably has a long, solo career and impact in singing that warrants descriptive area of her talents. I also think Joy deserves a good page to highlight her career (hence me fixing that section), but those quotes and run-on sentences to highlight her achievements aren't need to show that achievement. Also, fancruft is "a term sometimes used in Wikipedia to imply that a selection of content is of importance only to a small population of enthusiastic fans of the subject in question. The term is a neologism derived from the older hacker term cruft, describing obsolete code that accumulates in a program." You have made good edits, but there are parts of it that are going to categorize Joy's article as too fan-centered, and it will put that unnecessary tag on top of Joy's article, which neither of us want of course. Please check similar articles like Wikipedia:Too_much_detail.... it is a good starting point. Anyway, again, I'm not here to fight. Hopefully we can all continue to help Joy's article and others articles like it. Peace! Raolae (talk) 23:30, 11 September 2020 (UTC)

About Jin's name

I have a question, why can't you edit Seokjin's page to use his full name? Other members uses their full name, his is the only one that's a surname? Melcru11 (talk) 01:21, 19 September 2020 (UTC)

Please just edit this part add Seokjin, instead of using just Kim "Apart from singing, Kim has also appeared as a host on multiple South Korean music programs from 2016 to 2018. In 2018, he was awarded the fifth-class Hwagwan Order of Cultural Merit by the President of South Korea along with the other members of BTS, for his contributions to Korean culture." Melcru11 (talk) 01:26, 19 September 2020 (UTC)

@Melcru11: No, the difference here is that all of the other members article name is their stage name or their mononym, not their birth name. That is why they are referred to by their stage name throughout. Jin's article however uses his birth name, and so is referred to by his family name per MOS:SURNAME. The article uses his birth name rather than his stage name for disambiguation purposes, as his birth name is a natural disambiguation rather than something in parentheses. You can see the various discussions of the article name on the talk page. None of the other members' articles use their full name, so I donn't understand your comment; they use their stage name/mononym throughout. Alex (talk) 07:32, 19 September 2020 (UTC)

A reliable source is required. Are you referring to Dwayne Johnson? The information in his article is sourced. Alex (talk) 05:43, 24 September 2020 (UTC)
What about the news articles on Google like the one I added (that you undid)? 2600:1700:BAD0:23C0:D88D:A7BE:86F3:F903 (talk) 06:39, 24 September 2020 (UTC)
A reliable source is required. Soompi is not reliable. (And I did state "unreliable source" when I undid your edit.) If you're unsure about sources, you can check WP:KO/RS, it has a list of sources which are considered reliable and a list which are not. If you have any other sources that aren't on either list, you can ask about it on the talk page and other editors can help you decide if it is reliable or not. Alex (talk) 07:42, 24 September 2020 (UTC)
