Irish Red and White Setter[edit]

Always good to see a dog article being worked up! All references are fine (although could do with a precise access date - but that would fall under a GA review, not a DYK one). An issue I spot straight away is that citation needed template in the Revival section. I'm happy to agree with the hook fact of a "small number of breeders" as the article directly cites the Rossmore family and Noble Huston. Image is fine and would be suitable. - Thanks for your very welcome, constructive and helpful comment about this nomination; it is very much appreciated - as was the nomination! It was actually me who inserted the 'citation needed' tag when I did the alterations to the article. It was a couple of sentences in the original and try as I might I couldn't find a reliable source to specifically reference: "where the breed was developed more as a show dog. In contrast to these British dogs, the breed has continued to be primarily a working and field trial dog in Ireland." I had tried to leave as much of the previous article included and provide sources for the info already there. The closest I could get was "The Irish Red and White Setter is first and foremost a working dog, and an important part of our natural and sporting heritage." stated here. I do have a couple of reliable references about the key dog imported into the UK at that time who was a show dog; perhaps I could include details about him (he was the reason IRWS really became popular in the UK) which would go to support the statement? I can easily insert the precise dates I accessed all the references as I have a copy of them all in my notes, so will do that first thing in the morning when my computer is switched back on - I'm typing this on my iPad, so not ideal for doing a lot of work......::SagaciousPhil - Chat 21:31, 7 November 2012 (UTC)
