This is my first article. Please feel free to improve it. Harshavardhan83 (talk) 08:54, 17 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The "another explanation" section is way too "in-universe", to use a fiction term. This is an encyclopedia, it should not be treating anybody's spiritual beliefs as fact. It needs to be neutral and treated in a mythological/theoretical tone. I'd like to change it but my understanding of Hinduism is very poor and I'd probably just make a bigger mess of things. Hopefully someone who has a better grasp of the subject can fix that. 97.104.210.67 (talk) 02:23, 13 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

One section says sinners cannot cross; the next says sinners are judged.[edit]

Which is it? Are sinners prevented from crossing? Or are they judged? This is not obvious to a non-Hindu. 71.125.255.91 (talk) 05:02, 17 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Who built the Vaitarna river.[edit]

Vaitarani (mythology) TITLE CHANGE[edit]

Constantly suffixing 'Mythology' to Hindu Religious Texts is quite offensive and xenophobic. Judeo-Christian religious texts never get classified as 'Mythos'.

IMHO Vaitarani (mythology) needs an edit to "Vaitarani (Indian Religious Texts)" OR "Vaitarani (Hindu Religious Texts)" 206.84.239.161 (talk) 08:15, 19 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

See Hellenic Religions are dead, so classifying them as Mythology is not offense. But when Hinduism Buddhism and even Sikhism has more than two billion followers globally, yes offense is taken.
And always remember 'One man Religion is another man's mythology'. 206.84.239.161 (talk) 08:20, 19 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
