My recollection was that Ernie Carroll appeared live on the Tarax Show in the 1950s and his character was Joybelle. Ernie used to draw cartoon characters. Ossie Ostrich dates from 1971.

Professor Ratbaggy was the late Denzil Howson. The Professor Ratbaggy character evolved from an earler "Professor Nitwitty" and illustrations appear on the website dedicated to Denzil Howson.

I have seen a promo picture from The Tarax Show with Ernie Carroll wearing a cowboy costume, so he did actually show his face on the show. Ernie drew the Joybell cartoon character for the show and was also a producer at some stage. I have not seen exact dates for when Denzil played his Professor and when Ernie played his. Ossie started off on the Tarax show and was resurrected for Hey, Hey It's Saturday. His Professor also occasionally made an appearance with Daryl. RJ4 (talk) 16:18, 16 March 2010 (UTC)

No, Parer was HSV-7. Bernard was GTV-9. I have reverted the change and added a ref for Bernard.
