Untitled[edit]

Socialist Action - Canada is a distinct and separate political organization. Its policies, tactics, strategy and programme are determined by its members in the Canadian state, not by other organizations with a similar name in other countries. It makes no more sense to merge this information (article) with others than it would make sense to merge the information of all parties in the world with the word "Liberal" in their title, or the word "Communist", or "Conservative", or "Socialist", or "Green", etc. There is no shortage of space in Wikipedia, and no need to confuse the matters in question. Just leave it as is. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.118.224.252 (talk) 21:30, 11 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Merger proposal[edit]

This is a single political party which is active in multiple countries. Each country's page should be merged into a single page with sections on each country. Banaticus (talk) 06:02, 10 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The proposal is completely misconceived. Just take a look at the articles you have nominated - they are all very separate groups, and are affiliated to different international bodies. Just having the same or similar names does not make them the same group! Warofdreams talk 13:19, 11 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The groups have the same historical ideology, motivations, and name. Although they're affiliated with different groups in different countries and their short term goals within those countries differ, if it looks like a duck... Banaticus (talk) 20:15, 11 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose merger. The parties have distinct histories in each country, and even if they currently have the same ideology, they have reached this position via different paths.-gadfium 19:50, 20 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
