Untitled[edit]

I created this page, as well as a few others on theater. Becuase theater is created locally and leaves little physical evidence (unlike film for example), living theater artist are often not well-known during thier lifetimes, even though they are very well-respected in their fields. Callaghan was the recent subject of a New York Times feaure article that can be found here: [1]

  • Many people are "well respected" in their specific industry....it does not mean they should have their own page. Open this up for debate. 4.18GB 03:53, 25 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • 4.18GB, do you have a background in theatre? The Times article (as well as other media available after a google search) is evidence of Callaghan's importance. For example, I don't know anything about computer programming, or cricket, so I won't delete entries about people in those fields. What are the criteria for deletion?

==I don't....and this is why based on the substance of the article, I see no reason that it should stay. I see nothing notable, other than a NY Times article. Perhaps we open it up to an AFD? 4.18GB 12:30, 25 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • I closed the AfD as a keep because several convincing references were listed by User:Juniperattack. One of the references is an chat 'interview' in which I found Callaghan teaches at the University of Rochester, and that fact isn't even in this article. Someone should work those references into the article soon. Newer editors may not be aware that if the article is not improved it can (and probably will) be renominated for deletion. Thanks.
