"Shallow"

Is this section really needed? It makes the article sounds too biased, especially since there's no definite proof of SM going only for looks (other than fans' complaints).

I have read one complaint from a member of H.O.T.'s fanclub, but it can't be completely verified.

Trainees

I removed all trainees from the article. This information is not sourced (and not really source-able) and I'm not sure any of them are even noteable enough for mention in an encyclopedic article. Seems to me it's just too easy for any girl who wants to convince her friends on the internet that she's dating Micky Yoochun to just post her name on the list as "evidence." Also, since they are paying to go to Starlight Academy (if I understand correctly? please step in if I'm wrong!), they are more like students than performers, and I don't think students can be considered worthy of mentioning just by virtue of where and what they study. Until a method can be found to reliably source who is a trainee, and it can be demonstrated they belong in the article, I personally don't feel they should be re-included. (IMO, we also have to consider some of these kids are like 12 years old.) If by some chance they are re-included, their names also need to be written according to WP:NC-KO. --hamu♥hamu (talk) 14:55, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

Roster

Don't edit the article unless you have webpage reference. As for the case of TVXQ, Members only stayed with SM are U-Know and Max. Please put the other three on the "Left the Company" section. Xiah, Micky and Hero are now former employees of SM Entertainment, so why put the whole members on the TVXQ list? And Regarding the K-pop ballad duo The Blue, they should be included in the current roster, as their activity with SM has'nt been ended yet. And they also have an official website The Blue Official SM Entertainment Website. You should not deleted the band's article before. See the Korean Wikipedia for proof. And a big PLEASE, please refer all the article's source not only on Korean websites given but also the Korean Wikipedia itself to avoid confusion. Clear?

Do you have a source that states Xiah, Micky, and Hero are no longer apart of SM? If not they stay. The Blue does not have an article so when a article is created then you may add them to the list. Back to The Blue, even if someone will create the article about them, it'll going to be deleted due to "unsignificance", as shown on Wikipedia's Terms and Conditions, so better not brag. What about him? The problem with The Blue is maybe that there may not be enough information on them that can be backed up with reliable sources, so that is why the article was deleted repeatedly. Unbiased Language

Just removed the phrase "Money machine by enslaving the artists" from the description of S.M.'s services. I might be wrong, but that phrase seems more than a little biased, and considering this is an article, not a blog post, I think contributors should try to avoid that kind of bias in their language. 67.168.204.204 (talk) 21:10, 3 January 2012 (UTC)

Contractual dispute with Kris Wu On May 15, 2014, almost five years after Hangeng filed his case against SM Entertainment, Kris of EXO filed a lawsuit to terminate his exclusive contract with SM Entertainment.[56] It was first reported on Chinese news portal Sina[57], with various reactions from fans. Korean news sites TV Daily[58], Korea Herald[59], eNews[60][61], Nate[62], TV Report[63], and Daum[64][65] followed suit. Details as to when the lawsuit was first filed, what the lawsuit demands are, and Kris’s reasons behind it, have yet to be confirmed.[66] Kris is reportedly being represented by the same law firm that represented Hangeng, Hankyul Law Firm.

Tao

Can better sources (other than the un-reliable ones) be used for Tao's lawsuit against SM? I can't even edit the Exo article right now because all I see is Soompi and Koreaboo (both, which are considered unreliable according to consensus). Thanks and I hope someone can fix this. Subsidiaries

I wanted to ask everyone what they thought before I went ahead and did it. I was wondering what everyone thinks of removing the whole Subsidiaries section with the S.M. Culture & Contents and Woolim Label lists out of this page and having them on solely their own pages. S.M. Culture & Contents and Woollim Entertainment, I don't think we really needed more than one or two listings on more than page with the same content do we?   • The problem with duplicated lists is that every change needs to be done on both locations at the same time. Having a list on more than one location fights against logic of wiki where even smallest detail can be linked to from another source. Monni (talk) 13:32, 6 October 2015 (UTC)
    • Yes, that's what I was thinking. I think it's kind of silly to even have the Subsidiaries section in this article when they have their own pages. So I think I will move it over to their own. Considering that the official SM Town website doesn't separate sub-units/groups and project units from their main groups and both groups/sub-unit and soloist lists would get long can I propose that we try a new layout of the musicians section... perhaps like the following? OK... that's a new area for me. Agree they should be renamed, and it should be uncontroversial. See Wikipedia:Categories for discussion. I think this would fall under WP:C2D: Facilitating concordance between a particular category's name and a related page's name... because the page was just moved after a page move discussion resulted in explicit consensus to rename. Controversies

I've been wanting to discuss about the 'controversies' section in this article and I hope this is the right place? In informing people about the company SM, I wish this part can be removed because it hinders the image of the company. I'm not trying to deny that these things happened or say it's wrong because they did happen. But I looked at the pages for JYP and YG, who consists of the "Big 3" with SM in Korea entertainment, and they don't have a section like this. Also note that Wikipedia is not here to protect the image of any company. Neutral Point of View means we use reliable sources and provide balance. Though you have pointed out a valid point in the unequal treatment of the Big 3, instead of requesting the 'Controversies' section under SM Ent. removed (that reports details of factual events), I believe it would more politically correct to pursue equality by requesting similar 'Controversies' sections under the other companies. HYBE’s SM entertainment shares
