CTwo v Nevera[edit]

In the Porsche Taycan article, the Porsche Mission E is given a section. I think this article should be formatted similarly, with the Concept Two covered in a section; instead of renaming the article to Nevera and search-and-replace. For one thing, search-and-replace isn't supported by the sources, since they still use CTwo or Concept_Two, and not Nevera, as they were published before the new name was unveiled for the production version of the vehicle. And the production version and the concept prototype are different parts in the history of this car. -- 67.70.27.180 (talk) 14:21, 3 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The name of the production car is Nevera, so the majority of the article should use that name. However, it would be appropriate to add a paragraph dealing with the 'Concept Two' concept car. Many other car articles do this.  Stepho  talk  00:00, 5 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, please go ahead with that! --Horst-schlaemma (talk) 10:13, 13 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Production vehicle yet[edit]

I have started a discussion about whether the Nevera is a production vehicle or not. Please discuss at Talk:List_of_fastest_production_cars_by_acceleration#How_about_Rimc_Nevera_and_other_Rimac_cars.  Stepho  talk

Production start is not the same as the delivery of the first production car, but earlier. Pre-production car is part of the production just the same as is in case of Mercedes "pre-production" where it is customer ready but made for trade fairs and demonstrations and will be subsequently sold at a discount to customer or retained by factory but is still road legal and part of that model. It is a bit of a grey area. Large companies (eg Ford, GM) typically send a few vehicles down the production line to test the the line - these are pre-production vehicles. The resulting vehicles are typically used for crash testing, factory mules (eg, testing new engine/trim/suspension variations) or are simply crushed. Very few are sold to customers. Was the pre-production Nevera sold to a customer? If not, then production started in 2022. If yes then we can count production as starting in 2021. Also note that the 2022 reference says that the 2022 vehicle was unit #1.  Stepho  talk  23:44, 11 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Still the 2022 date may not be the production start, but the finish of a production of this particular example. Production started when first homologated and road-legal example was created and that was in 2021. "first production-spec" is just that, a first car specified by the customer not the factory. Pre-production is a term used for cars that are specified by factory and not yet by customers. But are still the very same cars. YBSOne (talk) 09:49, 12 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This car, road legal as seen here, homologated with VIN was photographed in 2021, ergo was produced in 2021 (or earlier). Production starts when first example of that car was produced, not when first customer-specified exmple is produced. YBSOne (talk) 09:54, 12 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
