oldest surviving gambrel roof in America?[edit]

The Wikipedia article on gambrel roofs states: "Possibly the oldest surviving house in the U.S. with a gambrel roof is the c. 1677–78 Peter Tufts House." That article seems well-written and well-sourced, but there is not an inline reference following that statement. I am inclined to add an unsourced statement along these lines into this article. I don't mind if someone else wants to revert me due to lack of specific sourcing. I just think it helps to have assertions like this out there in mainspace, as I think that then counter-examples, if any exist, are more likely to be found. --Doncram (talk) 19:23, 1 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
