Cost[edit]

Well Poland bought 690 vehicles for 1,27 billion Euros and the Finns bought 62 AMV's for 96 million Euros (these were 'simpler' than the Polish ones, lacking the big gun turret and only equipped with a remote operated MG). MoRsE 19:16, 10 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

in the title it's called the "advanced modular vehicle" but in the first line, it's the "armored modular vehicle". which one is it? also, the picture states that it's a "Patria XA-360"; shouldn't the title of the article reflect the apparent official designation? The Patria company calls it "AMV Armoured Modular Vehicle", The Poles refers to their version as the "Rosomak" (AMV XC-360P), and the Finns calls their "AMV XA-360" --MoRsE 19:54, 10 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Power[edit]

Page states that system has 360kw engine, although in one reference (army-technology.com) states 405kw. If there are different models, those should be listed. Tuju 10:59, 25 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Patria designation system is linked to the power of the engine, XA-200 has a 200 kW engine, XA-180 a 180 kW engine....the AMV, or XA-360 has thus a 360 kW engine. It could be that they have sized up the engine for the AMOS version as the tower is quite heavy. I will do some research.--MoRsE 10:26, 25 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

For first years of production a Scania DI12 engine with 360 kW power was used. Few years later it was replaced Scania DC12 engine with 405 kW power for new customers. TnTkr 05:33, 6 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Strange that they haven't changed the model name then. It should be XA-400 or XA-410. As mentioned above, the first two numbers means the engine output in 10's of kW's. The last number means the version (for example, XA-180 was the original Pasi after which there came further developments, as XA-181, XA-182 etc.). Funny enough, the designation system comes originally from the former owner Sisu, which also used it with their trucks and other vehicles but gave up with that in 1995 (or 1996) when the new E-series was presented. --Gwafton (talk) 22:14, 24 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Lithuania as Patria AMV operator?[edit]

That one has passed unnoticed by me, and it is indeed correct that it shouldn't be on the map. There was a user who added Lithuania as an operator, although it was only speculated that they were going to buy APC(w):s. The Green Devil[edit]

The article from http://www.assembly-weu.org says: According to an article in the Polish "Gazeta Wyborcza" on 2 September 2008, Polish Rosomaks are called "Green Demons" by the Taliban insurgents and other armed groups and prove an effective deterrent on the ground. http://wyborcza.pl".

However, the Polish article (also referenced on Wikipedia) says: ...sieje postrach wśród talibów, którzy nazwali go "zielonym czołgiem", which means: ...it spreads fear among the Taliban (insurgents), who nicknamed it "The Green Tank".

Amphibious capabilities[edit]

It is intended to complement the KTO Rosomak's used by the Polish Army, as the KTO Rosomak does not have amphibious capabilities. The factory[edit]

The producer of Patria AMV is Patria Land & Armament (formerly known as Patria Vehicles). Maybe it needs an own article? However, here is an article about its predecessor: Vanajan Autotehdas (VAT). Havoc, LockMart joint venture?[edit]
