Copy edit "Specifications"[edit]

I rewrote the following sentence:

The Regera reportedly produces a total of 1,822 metric horsepower through a hybrid powertrain, but due to exclusion of a multi-gear transmission, the maximum combined output available to the driver is 1,500 metric horsepower at an unknown vehicle and/or wheel speed.123

...mainly because it doesn't read well. I have never encountered the phrase "at an unknown vehicle and/or wheel speed" ever before in an article about hybrid cars or motors, and it is also not phrase used in any of the cited articles, AFAIKT. The awkward phrasing may be confusing to some people, and so I don't see much point in keeping it. Similarly, the phrase "due to exclusion of a multi-gear transmission" is also awkward. I've replaced it with the following sentence:

The Regera reportedly produces a total of 1,822 metric horsepower through a hybrid powertrain, but the power peaks of the electric motors and the internal combustion engine (ICE) are spread out, leaving a maximum combined output of 1,500 metric horsepower and 1,475 pound-feet of torque.123

Less technical jargon, and much easer for the reader to understand. The phrase "power peaks [...] are spread out" used by Mr. Koenigsegg himself here. The combined total torque number is useful information, and it is also something that is lifted almost verbatim from the sources, unlike the previous passus' on "unknown vehicle speed". / Gavleson (talk) 15:11, 16 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]


Tired of arguing since you don't seem to understand the technical reasoning. I just hope you actually do understand that the 1500 HP is available only at one very high vehicle speed, around 310 km/h for 7000 crankshaft RPM with 275/35R19 tires and 2.85 reduction ratio and that the reason for this is the exclusion of a multi-gear transmission that won't allow the ICE to provide it's max power RPM at low vehicle speeds. And also that you haven't heard the phrase "at an unknown vehicle speed" because the only other car with a similar powertrain as the Koenigsegg Regera is the Honda Accord hybrid. Diff ratio[edit]

Does anybody have an authoritative source for the diff ratio? Google can find multiple magazine articles for both 2.73 and 2.85 ratios. Perhaps both are options or it got changed at some point in time.  Stepho  talk  02:25, 29 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Electric power at speeds <30 mph[edit]

At speeds <30 mph driving power is provided by the rear two electric motors with the hydraulic coupling unlocked. Is the ICE running at this time? If it is running, is it merely idling, or is the ICE driving the front electric motor/generator which is then providing electric power to the rear motors? 178.16.2.15 (talk) 19:27, 2 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Normally ICE will be idling, or whatever rpm is needed to generate enough electricity for the wheel motors. During acceleration it the clutch will be slippering below 30 mph. Sijambo (talk) 20:52, 2 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Page reassessment[edit]

I feel like this page has progressed significantly past the Start class and could use a reassessment, however as a new user I'm not sure where to turn for this. The [requesting an assessment] section here seems to be fairly inactive/outdated- or is this still the best way to go about this? I have been looking at the few featured/good articles in the Automobiles Wikiproject as a rough guideline for information to include in this article (Mostly pages like the Maserati MC12 and the Jaguar XJ220) and would be interested to see what other big areas of this article remain to be improved. Anybody can just change it. It's better than Start but still needs more work done. Needs more references not from Koenigsegg. Needs a bit of tidying up for consistent date formats, image placement, etc. I rate it as C as-is.  Stepho  talk  11:53, 15 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Main image[edit]

So this image is currently the best copyright-free image of the Regera (good angle, good height, not blurry, doors closed, etc.)

However, the lighting and the dark colors on the car make it not ideal, as it is a little hard to see, for example, the roof line, back aero pieces, and wing mirrors against the darkish background. To remedy this, I remixed the image in several versions to improve visibility:

Weight[edit]

The Regera page [1] on the Koenigsegg site claims that the curb weight is both 1,590 kg and 1,628 kg, does anyone have a clue which one is true?

It is true that those sources used 1590, but I doubt they put it on the scales and confirmed it, and having the manufacturer put out two different numbers should bring some questions. Toasted Meter (talk) 06:25, 21 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
As the manufacturer didn't mentioned how the 1690 kg curb weight is possible and specifically mentions that the 1590 curb weight is amounted after all the coolants and fuel tank is filled up, 1590 kg should be used. U1Quattro (talk) 07:26, 21 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Ok so what I think is going on here is the 1628kg figure was used for pre-production prototypes, as that is the first curb weight listed on the Regera page when it was initially put up [2].
