1. She had an appearance in the popular TV show Lost in the episode 'Orientation' on October 5, 2005.

2. Should the article mention her miscarriage? DS 17:04, 14 September 2005 (UTC)

Birth year

Many people dispute her year of birth. Is there any way to find out for sure if it was 1954 or 1956 or other?

Most sources say 1953.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.53.199.64 (talkcontribs)

ussearch: CATHERINE L SAGAL - 51 - West Hollywood, CA. Yep, it's 1954.--Fallout boy 06:26, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
No doubt about it [1]. Crisso (talk) 20:12, 27 August 2010 (UTC)

Perhapse there should be a refrence to Sagal's hand in breaking the story of the production of new episodes of Futurama on Comedy Central.

10 Years

Married... with Children (1987–1997).The series ran for eleven years This is directly from the article. Does anyone else see a problem with this..--HighallTimes (talk) 21:24, 23 March 2012 (UTC)

Discography

Shouldn't there be a section on her Discography? I didn't even know she sings, and I'm sure nobody else did, so what the fuck did she sing? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by PoidLover (talkcontribs) 09:31, 20 March 2007 (UTC).

Error needs fixing

Near the picture of Leela it says " and she wore a hairstyle similar to Peg Bundy's, and the episode parodies Married... with Children." This makes no sense to me, can someone with the proper knowledge reword/edit that? --Ryudo 03:17, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

  • Does the new wording make sense?

In 1999, Matt Groening, who created The Simpsons, cast her as one-eyed mutant spaceship pilot Leela in his science-fiction cartoon comedy Futurama. In the episode "A Bicyclops Built for Two", which parodies Married...with Children, Leela briefly sports a hairstyle similar to Peg Bundy's.

It works for me but I know what it's talking about...let me know specifically what is confusing and I can fix it. Stardust8212 03:39, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

Beast With A Billion Backs

I'm sort of a wiki noob, so I don't know how to fix this. Beast with a Billion Backs has a wiki page, and it's not linking. If anyone could fix this, it would help the article. 98.243.30.179 (talk) 20:59, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

Try changing it to Futurama: The Beast with a Billion Backs. Stardust8212 21:11, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
And just for kicks I went ahead and created a redirect at Futurama: The Beast With A Billion Backs so this particular capitalization issue should not be a problem in the future. Stardust8212 21:15, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

Photos

I understand the difficulty of obtaining free images of Sagal. However only showing images of her Futurama work is a classic example of systemic bias and unevenly characterizes her work as an actor. Ideally one of the two should go. 118.90.28.56 (talk) 22:24, 7 February 2009 (UTC)

And what about using a 20 year old photo as her MAIN photo ?? Surely there is a more up to date one available ? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Malau (talkcontribs) 04:54, 5 July 2009 (UTC)

The 20-year old photo is taken from the height of her popularity & fame, so it seems appropriate to me. KevinOKeeffe (talk) 22:11, 5 September 2009 (UTC)

Sagal should be attending Comic Con 2010. Unfortunately, I was unable to take a photo of her this year due to the cast's absence, because of the contract dispute that was settled 5 days after the Con had ended. Sagal has attended the event two of the three years I've gone, so I don't doubt that she will willingly decide to not attend Comic Con once more. Hopefully, at least. I understand how hard it is to upload photos but I hate the main one with a burning passion. She's so beautiful, and deserves much better better than a picture that makes her look like a victorian at a funeral. That picture is such a poor representation of her, it irritates me. It can't be argued that the picture was taken at the height of her popularity and fame because shes not a has been now. If anything, shes famous for doing even more roles. She's lasted past Married ... With children and avoided being a one character wonder. She looks so depressed in that picture, which does n justice to her triumph over the bad things that have happened to her. Here are some links to some much better ones (every other picture of her is better, but these are the ones stylistically most suited to being her main picture) which I trust are public domain, and from acceptable sites as I've been able to post all of them. Please reply to me and tell me what you think. Let me know if these would be problematic to upload. Please let me know what you think, and if you agree with me, tell me how I can change the picture. Is everyone else here today because of the Married With Children marathon too? LOL! Anyway, that picture is creepy!!! Change it! --Wayc (talk) 02:37, 6 September 2009 (UTC)

The only free images available for use can be found here, none of which are much better than the current image. The current image can suffice until a new image is taken. Gage (talk) 15:20, 6 September 2009 (UTC)
As promised, I've added a new photo I took of Sagal at this year's Comic Con. Gage (talk) 09:20, 28 July 2010 (UTC)

Personal Life

Just thought this would be interesting, but I saw her at Staples in Studio City, CA and before that my mother actually saw her at a car wash on Ventura Blvd. in Sherman Oaks, CA.

That is entirely unencyclopedic. Gage (talk) 01:19, 20 September 2009 (UTC)
Which is why the original poster wrote it on the "discussion" page, not the main article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 199.64.0.252 (talk) 21:52, 9 May 2011 (UTC)

Ritter Trial

Anyone think her testimony in John Ritter's wrongful death trial should be written about?

McNally Sagal

I believe the actress McNally Sagal is related to Katey Sagal, but can't find any sources on this. If someone can confirm it, please add it to Katey's familial relationships section. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.92.14.172 (talk) 02:53, 23 October 2010 (UTC)

Wicked Scar!

I was watching Sons of Anarchy and there was a scene that showed a massive scar running down the middle of her chest. Was that just part of her character, of did Katey really have her chest cracked? TodKarlson (talk) 04:28, 29 September 2011 (UTC)

It's makeup. Unscarred cleavage very much in evidence in Married With Children. Congenital heart defects are a story element in Sons of Anarchy. The Interior (Talk) 04:55, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for the response. I just started watching SoA on FX, so I don't have the 1st 3 seasons' backstory. As to her not having the scar on MwC, sure, but that was a long time ago (1987-1997), and a lot can happen, especially considering that her mom died of heart disease in 1975. I always had a hard time swallowing that show's premise that Al Bundy wasn't interested in plowing that field at every opportunity. TodKarlson (talk) 07:22, 12 October 2011 (UTC)
Al Bundy seemed to suffer from some deep existential crisis, one that engulfed both his libido and any drive for self-improvement. Only Big'Uns salved the pain... But yes, you're quite right, the scar could be post MWC, but I don't think it is. The Interior (Talk) 17:35, 12 October 2011 (UTC)

Category change

I removed the category 'American Jews of Russian descent' since there's no information about her mothers place of origin, and it clearly states on her father's page that he is of Ukrainian descent. I added her to the American Jews category. --Jsderwin (talk) 13:52, 17 October 2012 (UTC)
