Incorrect use of parentheses around many cited authorities[edit]

Parentheses around authorities are currently rife on this page in the Taxonomy section, example:

  • Family: †Hyainailouridae (paraphyletic family) (Pilgrim, 1932)
    • Subfamily: †Apterodontinae (Szalay, 1967)
      • Genus: †Apterodon (Fischer, 1880)
        • Apterodon altidens (Schlosser, 1910)
        • Apterodon gaudryi (Fischer, 1880)
        • Apterodon langebadreae (Grohé, 2012)
        • Apterodon macrognathus (Andrews, 1904)
        • Apterodon rauenbergensis (Frey, 2010)

(etc.)

however are largely incorrect. Authorities for genera and above are never cited in parentheses, e.g. the authority for Genus Apterodon should be Fischer, 1880, not (Fischer, 1880). However for species they may or may not be required, depending on where the species was first described: if in a different genus, parentheses are used; if still in the original genus (never moved), no parentheses. Since researching the latter is beyond my available time at present I have left the list unchanged at this time, but this is a note that it requires work...
