Meyer–Schuster rearrangement.[edit]

I don't quite understand "When catalyzed by acid, this reaction is called the Meyer–Schuster rearrangement." The page on Meyer–Schuster rearrangement starts with a propagyl alcohol, which is not the case in Favorskii reaction. It seems to me that only the second part of the mechanisms ressembles Meyer–Schuster rearrangement.
Am I right?
