Merge?[edit]

Might it be an idea to merge this as a subsection of the ocean acidification article? More so that readers of the larger article are aware of the special situation of estuaries in regards to OA? Just a thought. --PLUMBAGO 10:13, 7 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I think a merge and Redirect with possibilities would be best. This article currently mainly summarizes ocean acidification, and so doesn't merit separate status. It's also poorly referenced. However, a Google Scholar search yields about 200 references on the topic of estuarine acidification, suggesting that should the topic be developed further, an article could be split off. --Animalparty-- (talk) 19:33, 1 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Disassociate[edit]

I changed "it causes calcium carbonate (CaCO3) to disassociate" to use dissociate, instead of disassociate, and added a wikilink to Dissociation (chemistry). Please fix this if I got it wrong, with my apologies. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Whikie (talkcontribs) 18:13, 6 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Difficulty of Article[edit]

I would disagree that the article is "too difficult for most readers to understand," as the heading comment suggests. It requires some elementary knowledge of chemistry, but this is to be expected in an article of this sort. I added a couple of parenthetical explanations of terms used, which I think is permissible. Photosynthesis and respiration section relevance[edit]

This section of the page discusses the topic of photosynthesis in general, but does not relate the content to estuarine acidification or show how estuarine acidification affects photosynthesis. The information presented in this section could be more relevant to this page. I added a reference link [1] to the section that supports this information and more directly addresses photosynthesis and estuarine acidification together.Rachelmorales (talk) 22:30, 4 November 2016 (UTC)Rachelmorales[reply]

Freshwater flow section[edit]

This section of the page did not have any reference links to cite where the information came from. I added a link [1] to the section to have more evidence to support what is discussed in the Freshwater flow portion of the page.Rachelmorales (talk) 22:32, 4 November 2016 (UTC)Rachelmorales[reply]

Impact on marine life section[edit]

There were no reference articles to support the statement that "acidification also harms micro-organisms in the environment," I added a source [1] to support this and provide more information on the topic. Rachelmorales (talk) 22:35, 4 November 2016 (UTC)Rachelmorales[reply]
