According to McFeeters et al. 2021, the correct name for the tribe containing Maiasaura, Brachylophosaurus, and other similar taxa should be Maiasaurini, based on ICZN rules. Should there be a name change for this page? Meekororum (talk) 10:46, 4 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
They are incorrect in their use; the 1992 paper they cite for this only used Maiasaurinae, it did not validly coin it. "Maiasaurini" is not validly coined and I do not think it will catch on, not a good idea to change this off a few papers with an easily disproven notion. @LittleLazyLass: Does Horner 1992 mention anything about Maiasaurinae being a new clade? If so, it technically is a new clade under ICZN rules, specifically ICZN article 13.1.3.Meekororum (talk) 22:53, 5 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
