I say we merge, as part of the effort to bring clarity to the world of bird anatomy. Thoughts? 82.16.7.63 01:58, 27 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose I would rather not merge but expand the articles Keel (bird), Pygostyle... They deserve articles of their own. There is enough general information to write into the bird skeleton article, and adding very detailed information about particular bones could make the article hard to follow. Oppose Agree with Kaarel to not merge. Cburnett 15:21, 29 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose the merge, especially of furcula, which is not an exclusively avain feature of anatomy Tevildo 18:10, 4 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose No this needs to be here, but a redirect would be fine, but the page needs to be searchable. \/\/@||@(3 07:07, 7 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose as well per Kaarel, and strongly oppose merging furcula as it is not exclusive to birds. Can't sleep, clown will eat me 18:16, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I guess you guys would also oppose merging the whole of bird skeleton into the newly created bird anatomy article too? Oh and by the way, it was me who proposed all this (under a random IP), in case you were wondering... - Jak (talk) 00:58, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

In fact, I dont find the merging of the bird skeleton into the bird anatomy a bad idea. The reason is that they both are overview articles with inevitably overlapping contents. If we have articles about a particular term or concept merged into an overview article, it is quite uncomfortable to find the information needed in there (being for example redirected from pygostyle to bird anatomy). But the articles of bird anatomy and bird skeleton are not explanations of particular terms but broader reviews probably read by people with almost the same point of interest (i.e. bird anatomy) Kaarel 08:39, 28 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Pretty old topic. Have you settled to a conclusion?

rogue edit[edit]

On the 19th May, a busy day for this article, someone slipped in a rogue edit (hips) that has remained until today! As long as someone had some fun. Oh well .... - Ballista 09:09, 24 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Somedude101: I would support a merge, but furcula should have its own article because it is also an arthropod feature.
