I Changed who played what, because acording to Jason Ankeny's Article on AllMusic They "democratically rotated vocal, guitar, and drum duties between members". In addition there is video footage of the members playing the different instruments. Though Bret never did vocals, and I've seen no evidence of Calvin playing drums. - Lewiscode

Name origin[edit]

Does anyone have any information as to where the band's name came from? Does it have anything to do with the beat generation? - Ugliness Man 16:13, 4 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I believe it was derived from a student film made by a friend. The details are in Azerrad's book Our Band Could Be Your Life, but I haven't read it for a few years. CAVincent (talk) 22:34, 24 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! In Azzerad's book, it's said that the band's name was at first "Beatnik Happening", but then changed, because they thought Beatnik movement had a machist connotation. Genre[edit]

I'm not one to quibble about genres, and I don't really know this band. But in the first sentence it calls them a punk band, and in the infobox they are "twee pop, indie pop, [and] indie rock." Can we get some sort of agreement between the two? 71.179.26.108 (talk) 00:28, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Working on expanding this[edit]
