Bluray[edit]

This hasn't been released on Bluray. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.38.36.237 (talk) 02:12, 23 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Rottentomatoes (not the best of sources) says blu ray was released. Do you have a different source? -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 02:46, 23 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
since the press release only talks about DVD and there doesnt appear to be blu ray available on amazon, the only reference to blu ray appears to be a standard template on rottentomatoes, I have removed it. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 04:37, 23 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
We switched from Dish to ATT U-Verse so cannot confirm that 2016: Obama's America is available on Dish. Can't find out via Google either. Charles Edwin Shipp (talk) 01:00, 24 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Public success vs Media bias[edit]

The documentary "action" movie of Dinesh D'Souza and Gerald Molen earned more at the box office than the 15 entries selected by the Academy (combined.) Here are some quotes of interest: '2016' Oscar Snub Has Filmmakers Claiming Political Bias.

  • Gerald Molen, who produced the Academy Award-winning 'Schindler's List,' said the box-office success of the anti-Obama documentary proves the film was a hit: "The action confirms my opinion that the bias against anything from a conservative point of view is dead on arrival in Hollywood."
  • Gerald Molen, the Oscar-winning producer of Schindler’s List, is claiming political bias because a documentary movie he produced this year isn't up for an Oscar, even though that film, 2016: Obama’s America, made more money at the box office than the combined earning of the 15 films the Academy deemed eligible.
  • "I want to thank the Academy for not nominating our film,” D’Souza joked. "By ignoring 2016, the top-performing box-office hit of 2012, and pretending that films like Searching for Sugar Man and This Is Not a Film are more deserving of an Oscar, our friends in Hollywood have removed any doubt average Americans may have had that liberal political ideology, not excellence, is the true standard of what receives awards."
  • "Dinesh warned me this might happen," Molen said with a laugh Tuesday. "The action confirms my opinion that the bias against anything from a conservative point of view is dead on arrival in Hollywood circles. The film’s outstanding success means that America went to see the documentary in spite of how Hollywood feels about it."

I thinking a WP link can go over to biased media, as if that is not obvious!Charles Edwin Shipp (talk) 00:44, 10 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

the academy awards are for "quality" and not "$" (the summer block buster action movies are never among the nominees for "best" picture.) that those involved are making sour grapes statements that the academy is not choosing candidates based on box office receipts are really not that worthy of mention. do you have any actual movie industry experts who are one bit surprised that a 40% at metacrtic film wasnt nominated? -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 01:26, 10 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

New movie, "America" — not a sequel, but a 'follow up'[edit]

[1] Headline, for now: "'2016: Obama's America' Filmmakers Making Follow-Up Film (Exclusive)" Charles Edwin Shipp (talk) 03:21, 18 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

[2] See the "America" clip (not a 'trailer') and D'Souza for 10min at CPAC. Charles Edwin Shipp (talk) 04:03, 18 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Description of D'Souza as "far-right" in introduction[edit]

I'm astonished that no-one else on the entire talk page has mentioned this. I'm no expert on the guy, but based on the small amount of his material I've seen, I know enough to state that this description is a bald-faced lie of exactly the kind weaponised against Joe Rogan, Jordan Peterson, et al.. Is Wikipedia now in the business of repeating fashionable propaganda and redefining words? 81.2.93.172 (talk) 16:28, 28 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

There is an ongoing discussion about Wikipedia's description of Dinesh D'Souza here. AviationFreak💬 16:50, 28 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
