Sangharsh Yoddha Manoj Jarange Patil is an upcoming Marathi-language biographical film based on Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange Patil. The film is directed by Shivaji Doltade, written and produced by Govardhan Doltade under the banner of Sonai Films Creation, who also provide the lyrics for the film.[2] The film stars Rohan Patil in title role, Gayathri Jadhav, Mohan Joshi, Sandeep Pathak, Suresh Vishwakarma, Sagar Karande, Shubhangi Latkar, Shrinivas Pokale.[3][4]

The filming is took place in Jarange's village Antarwali Sarathi, Jalna and Mumbai. The film is scheduled to be theatrically released on 21 June 2024 throughout Maharashtra.[5]

Premise[edit]

Manoj Jarange Patil, who has continuously engaged in a number of Maratha social fields, is the main character of the film. It is believed that the film centres on his life's battle with the pressing problem of reservation.[2]

Developement[edit]

The discussions commenced in 2023 amongst the producers, actors, and the entire team, spurred by the release of Doltade's Khalaga. Following that, within two or three days, the makers resolved to create a biopic detailing the life of Manoj Jarange Patil. The team subsequently met Jarange Patil, informed them about the film, and obtained permission.[9]

Casting[edit]

Doltade selected actors based on their language style, which was essential for connecting with audiences in the Marathwada region.[9] Actor Rohan Patil was cast in the pivotal role of Manoj Jarange Patil in the film, supported by Sandeep Pathak, Sagar Karande, Arbaz Shaikh, Shrinivas Pokale.[10] Mohan Joshi has playing the role of Jarange Patil's father. Doltade stated that "During the casting process, Joshi was unwell, struggling to communicate clearly. I met with him and narrated the entire story. Despite his condition, Joshi found the story compelling and agreed to collaborate independently."[9]

Filming[edit]

The principal photography was begun on 19 January 2024 in Antarwali Sarathi.[11][8] The film was majorly filmed in Jalna district of Maharashtra. The film shooting was also done in Mumbai.[12] The post production was wrapped up in February 2024 at Antarwali Sarathi.[13][14]

Release[edit]

The film is set to be released on 21 June 2024 in the theatres, previously it was set to released on 26 April 2024. The Censor Board of Film certification has reportedly approved every scene in the film without objections. However, due to guidelines from the Election Commission, the movie cannot be screened during the current Lok Sabha election period, citing concerns about the electoral code of conduct and ongoing voting processes.[15]
