Rob Fairs, recently elected into the Tasmanian House of Assembly, is probably best known as beloved multimedia personality “Fairsy” - a public voice of the Northern Tasmanian community for more than 35 years. And yet it’s his work behind the scenes that has positively impacted the lives of thousands of Tasmanians.

With a heart as big as Tasmania, when asked by F1 legend Mark Webber, Rob volunteered to establish and help manage his Mark Webber Challenges, which subsequently raised $1.5 million for Tasmanian and national charities.

As a former long-time Ambassador for national charity assisting at-risk Tasmanian youth, Whitelion, Fairsy stepped up when they pulled out of the state and established his volunteer-run charity, The Rob Fairs Foundation. [1] It has so far raised over $100,000 and is transforming the lives of many young northern Tasmanians, with operations now expanding into Hobart and the South.

Prior to his election win, Rob operated a very successful small business, Fairsy Consultancy Pty Ltd, a sports management, marketing and promotions company.

He lives, works and breathes Northern Tasmania with Jo, his wife of 27 years, and believes now is the time to step-up even further on behalf of all Tasmanians as a Liberal member for Bass.[2]

Fairsy is passionate about providing the best pathways for all Tasmanians to achieve their goals and aspirations. He believes this can be achieved through a strong economy, and increased support for small business, health, education, sport and recreation, and of course the cause closest to his heart, backing our most disadvantaged.
