History[edit]

KBUR-FM signed on the air on November 27, 1968 with a radiated power of 53,000 watts and was upgraded to 100,000 watts in 1980. From the mid-1970s until the early-1990s, KGRS aired a Top 40/CHR music format. By 1992, its CHR format leans towards adult contemporary, and by 2000, the station upgraded its format to its current Hot AC format with its current Mix branding.

Titan Broadcasting LLC agreed to purchase the station from GAP West (owned by Skip Weller) in late 2007. The station was owned by Clear Channel prior to GAP West.[3] Titan also owns KBKB-FM in nearby Fort Madison, Iowa.
