Comment[edit]

Some of the articles, John Wyatt for example, do not include any content that supports a Negro Leagues classification. (Wyatt was one major league player (debut 1961) who played in a minor Negro League during their decline, I know from another list of Negro leagues players. He is not in Riley's Biographical Encyclopedia.) P64 (talk) 03:20, 15 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

George Smith is another example, although there is a broken reference to a page at Google Books.

This may be expected for stubby articles and it may be a desirable function of categories, extending articles implicitly. P64 (talk) 03:31, 15 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I've added sentences on their Negro league experience to George Smith (second baseman) and to John Wyatt (baseball). BRMo (talk) 15:16, 20 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Some players are miscategorized[edit]

Some of the players are being miscategorized and are listed according to first name rather than last (e.g. Ben Adams (baseball) is listed under "B" rather than "A" and Charlie Davis (baseball) is listed under "C" rather than "D"). Is there a way to fix this? Karmaclub (talk) 16:52, 13 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Karmaclub:Those players are missing the {{DEFAULTSORT}} tag. You would need to add, for example, {{DEFAULTSORT:Adams, Ben}} to the Ben Adams article (just above the categories). Rgrds. --64.85.216.43 (talk) 12:42, 14 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

64.85.216.43, I knew there must be a simple coding fix. Thank you! Karmaclub (talk)
